For starters, say hello to Kevin Matthews for me up there in Grand Rapids, Phil... Seriously, Phil does bring up a valid point about Lions' QB Matthew Stafford. He has yet to finish a single game in his career vs. the Bears and has gotten injured in each game played in 3 career meetings.

The last time the Bears played the Lions, third-stringer and former Michigan State QB Drew Stanton was the starter that afternoon at Ford Field on my birthday a year ago. The Bears won that game, but Stanton played very capable football in that start.

Not a chance the Bears win. The Lions are clearly a dynasty in the making. This is evidenced by their 4-0 record. There is absolutely no viable means of interpreting their second-half comebacks against collapsing QB's and mindless offensive coordinators as "horseshoe up the hiney" type of luck. Only the Bears could ever be the beneficiaries of such happenstance. With any other team, it's clearly the sign of impenetrable talent.

Lions are the team under pressure here. First MNF game in years, at home in front of a big crowd, and defending an perfect record, all adds up to pressure. The hype is calling it a "coming out party".

This is where a young team on the rise shows immaturity and self-destructs, maybe with penalties and maybe with turnovers.

Bears are a better bet than the 6 point spread I'm seeing, but I'd feel more confident if we had the old kick-off rule back. Especially in a dome the Bears give up a lot of field position and scoring chances with all the touch-backs.

With a couple turnovers: Bears 26-23.
Without turnovers: Lions 34-13.

It would be nice to have the Bears D line show up for the game & make this happen. Bears D hasn't been able to put any pressure on QB's this year. Thus far, Peppers hasn't been the difference maker that he was last year.

The Lions are chomping at the bit for this game. It is the first time for them on Monday night Football in 10 years, they have to win to stay atop the division with the Packers and the city of Detroit will be bonkers. The Bears will be in deep trouble if the Lions get off to an early lead, as the fans will make it nearly impossible for the offense to hear Cutler bark out the signals at the line. The Bears have no answer for Megatron and unless someone can get to Stafford (Peppers?) early enough, I don't see any way the Bears win this one.

I do not think that this game will be very close. I think if the Lions get out to a quick start, they will win big. If the Bears can keep them largely out of the endzone in the first half (< 13 points), the Beloved end up winning by at least 2 TDs.

Remember the last time the Bears played on a Monday night against an upstart team? They won a game they had no business winning. Now that '06 defense is a lot different from this year's and I think the Lions are better than the Cardinals were at that time, but still. More often than note, strange things seem to happen that favor the Bears when they play in primetime.

the line has more relevance than you grant it...actually the line movement is the stronger indication than the actualy line

How's that curse working for you?? The Vegas line has everything to do with getting equal action on each side of the wagering. The fact that the line moved had nothing to do with injuries or anything that would affect the performance of the players (guy is sick...got arrested on Thurday night for DUI and may be held out) it was just about the fact that more money was going down on the Bears at that time, so they moved the line. Later the line went back to 6, so what does that tell you?....only that the wagering went back to where they wanted it (with equal action on either side).
