Jim Miller was on CSN and he said the Bears should get Bulger. Seems like it would make Mike Martz happy.

Shouldn't hurt but we all know Martz has a thing with fucking with Hanie. He would be pushing for Bulger to start.

That would be fine. However, if they need him, they are probably already sunk.

Its week 11 going on week 12. A QB is not going to come in from the street and be better than Caleb Hanie at this point. Hanie is the best guy for the job right now, so you've gotta run with him. Hopefully he can play well and hopefully Martz doesn't ask too much of the guy. Short, safe throws, handoffs and thats that.

Of course the defense is going to have to step it up bigtime as well. They can't allow teams to get chunks of yards like the Chargers did yesterday.

Would be nice insurance. Would the McCaskey's step up to the plate with enough cash to tempt him??

There really are only two teams that the Bears won't be able to match in a shootout the rest of the way. That said, I don't think they will be able to run away from anyone the rest of the season. They will win ugly games against the Chiefs, Seahawks, Broncos. They will get smoked by the Packers. If they can go 1-2 against the Vikings and Raiders, Hanie's play will be a success.

At last check, Marc Bulger retired after this past season. Bulger held a clipboard for Joe Flacco in Baltimore, but he definitely has a history with OC Mike Martz, as does another journeyman QB. He's J.T. O'Sullivan, who I believe was the starting QB when Martz was the OC of the 49ers before "Coach Can't Do It", Mike Singletary, got the job a couple years ago. O'Sullivan had a cup of coffee on the Bears' practice squad, and I think also held a clipboard for Carson Palmer in Cincinnati. Right now, no matter who the Bears bring in, it's nothing more than insurance.

How many games did Rex miss in 2006 before he came back?

The injury was in 2005. Rex was missed 3 preseason games and 13 regular season games.

marc bulger hasnt been effective in the NFL in 5 years, don't see the upside there at all.

I would rather have the Bears sign Jim Miller.

I thought Marc Bulger was too injury-prone before he held a clipboard last year in Baltimore...

Its comical to even think Bulger is a serious option... He sucks... He wasn't effective the last 3 or 4 years of his career. Martz's offense wore him out...

Marc Bulger is staying retired. End of story.
