I just heard Drinky play Teddy saying this. None of the TV sports anchors played that clip. That's the big story. Of course the TV people wouldn't recognize that. How can the GM have control over the coach when the coach helped hire him? So the coach answers to the GM when the coach is one of the reasons the GM was hired? What? This is fucked up. Bears fail again.

Bears are switching ranks. Head Coach > GM.

I thought this would be the year Lovie would be on the hot seat and couldn't afford the unmitigated arrogance of the past. It sounds like he is even stronger than last year.

Why would anyone think Lovie is qualified to have a say in the GM position?

Phillips and Mc Caskey will then blame Lovie to save their own skins in 2 years.

well, if you put lovie, ted phillips, and the mclaskeys in a room, who would you trust to make a football decision?

None of the above is not an option.

Ted Phillips still in his place in the organization is an issue.

George McCaskey described his duties as if he were Phillips assistant.

Matt Bowen was on WGN this morning and he said he thinks that Lovie wont REALLY have a say. Its just lip service to support the idea that Lovie is not a lame duck.

George McClaskey displayed no leadership yesterday. None. Nada. Zip. He came off as soft & submissive, neither of which are traits of a good leader.

Exactly, Scorehead. He should have come into that room like Alexander Haig. Whether he was correct about his standing, it would have at least given the appearance of organizational strenght. Ted Phillips in charge of football decisions is the antithesis of organizational strenght.

I've had people who would ultimately be my manager "interview" with me. It's not like a real interview in the sense, he got to ask me questions and I got to learn about him.

Some guys have a dignified commanding presence & you know they are somebody before they ever open their mouth & say anything. These guys have natural leadership qualities & garner immediate respect. George & Mike McCaskey come off as guys who work at the H&R Block temporary office set up in Walmart.
