For a team that has let us down for every year since 1985, why do people spend some much time talking about the team? Derrick Rose is more exciting than anyone on the Bears.

Hasn't Derrick Rose let us down just as much as the Bears since 1985?

They've made the playoffs the last three years. Rose was Rookie of the Year and was MVP last year. They made it to the Eastern Conference Finals and had the best record last year. They were not expected to beat Miami and they didn't. They've met or exceeded expectations this year and last.

Compare that to the Bears. The GM was atrocious at picking players. They lost a Super Bowl that was theirs for the taking. They made the playoffs two times in the last six years. They failed to address problems with receivers, offense line, safety and defensive line. They also failed to beat the Packers and let them in the playoffs and lost to them as they went to and won the Super Bowl. They also failed to spend money on an adequate backup quarterback two years in a row. In addition with hiring a new GM they kept the coach who mismanages timeouts and plays prevent defense at the end of games that cost them at two trips to the playoffs. If they win that Atlanta game with Orton they make the playoffs or even just by beating the Texans by having real safeties. If they have even an average backup they make the playoffs this year or play better against Green Bay in the championship game last year. I didn't mention hiring a offensive coordinator who doesn't make adjustments and runs your franchise quarterback into the ground with 5 step drops.

The Bears made the conference championship game last year and also played in the Super Bowl. That's better than Rose up to date.

My point is that if the Bears have "let us down every year since 1985", the Bulls with Derrick Rose have too, and more than the Bears because at least the Bears made the finals.

Bears went to super bowl and NFC championship recently and until Carimi, Cutler and Forte got hurt they were well on their way to playoff this year and possibly a good run.
Bulls would suck if Rose were injured like Cutler.
What have they added to address their problems? Boozer and Hamilton?
Football is king, never enough Bears talk.

They made it through a weak NFC on the strength of the defense and kick return game. If they had probably any other quarterback other than Grossman they probably win the Super Bowl. A guy who is not too short to see over the line or who doesn't try to chuck the ball up to win the game. That's where the massive letdown comes in.

The conference championship season was almost a complete fluke. Hardly any injuries the whole season and they faced the backup or crappy quarterbacks in just about every game. The Saints get beat by the Seahawks and so you get a 7-9 team in Soldier Field. If you have any kind of decent offensive line Cutler doesn't get hurt in the game against the Packers. Another massive letdown.

The point is they made it to the Super Bowl and then they missed the playoffs in 07, 08 and 09. They missed again in 2011 because the GM didn't believe in filling the holes on the team. He said "There are only a couple no. 1 wide receivers out there," as if that means he can't get better receivers.

I do realize football is king, but you have to admit the Bears have screwed the fans over by an ownership that doesn't know how to get the right football people in place.
