Even though training camp is still a few days away from starting in Bourbonnais, the Bears have announced a change in their preseason broadcasts airing on FOX32 & the Chicago Bears Network.

While "NFL on FOX" PBP voice Sam Rosen returns for a third season calling the Bears-produced with FOX32's lead sports anchor Lou Canellis on the sidelines, the Trib's Brad Biggs has Tweeted that Jim Miller, part of Comcast SportsNet's "Bears' Postgame Live" team, will replace Erik Kramer as color analyst for 3 of the team's preseason broadcasts next month.

The first Bears' Network/FOX32 broadcast airs Thursday, August 9th @ 7:30P when the Bears host Peyton Manning's new team the Broncos in preseason action. Sam, Jim & Lou will also have the games Saturday, August 18th @ 7P vs. Robert Griffin III and the Redskins at Soldier Field, along with the preseason finale in Cleveland vs. Colt McCoy & the Browns Thursday, August 30th @ 6:30P. CBS Sports will have the national call of the Bears' third preseason game vs. the Super Bowl Champion Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ Friday, August 24th @ 7P.

Good deal. I get the impression Erik Kramer couldn't care less about the Bears.

I heard less than flattering things about Kramer as a color analyst on those broadcasts, Hatchetman.

That's cool. Never understood why they felt we wanted to hear from Erik Kramer.

Jim Miller is good. Not afraid to go after people.

SHARK, who was calling the preseason games before Rosen? Was it Dave O'Brien?

It was ex-ESPN college football voice Dave Barnett when NBC5 had the Bears' preseason games, Spmack. The same Barnett who recently had a meltdown calling a Rangers/Padres' game on FOX Sports Southwest. Before Barnett, it was...Dick Stockton.

Ok, I knew it was a Dave.

And I also remember before Kramer, it was Ditka as the color analyst, and before him it was Walter Payton.

Well, NFL Network airs EVERY single game of the preseason next month, regardless who's calling it and which feed it is.

I always thought it was a good argument between Miller and Kramer for best Bears QB between McMahon and Cutler.

I thought MIller was underrated.

One time I saw him in Evanston and he ordered shark so I said "I saw a Bear eating shark" as he was on the team at the time.
