Worse than originally thought or silent contract protest?

Either way, I don't like it.

What's going on with it? I haven't been paying attention.

He was held out of his fourth practice and is expected to miss the first pre-season game...

Trib wrote:
BOURBONNAIS -- Brian Urlacher missed his fourth consecutive practice Sunday and it’s looking unlikely that the veteran middle linebacker will play in the preseason opener Thursday against the Denver Broncos at Soldier Field.

After Sunday’s practice under sunny skies at Olivet Nazarene, coach Lovie Smith would not offer a timetable for when Urlacher will return to the field. He was last on the field Tuesday.

Urlacher was held out of the entire offseason program after he sprained his left knee in the season finale at Minnesota.

“His knee is still a little sore,” Smith said. “He has some soreness with it. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get him back out here before long. But we’ll take our time with Brian.”

That sounds a little less optimistic than Smith has been recently when discussing the Pro Bowl performer and leader of the defense. Smith was asked if the team would consider arthroscopic surgery for Urlacher to take a look at the knee.

“We’re on top of his knee,” he said. “When he’s ready to go, he’ll be back out there. That’s about all we’ll talk about.”

As usual, Smith said concern is natural any time a player is not on the field.

“There is always concern when you have an injury at the end of the year and you miss some time in the offseason but he should be OK,” he said. “It’s not like he really hurt it anymore. You assume -- I assume -- he would have some soreness and he would miss a few of these training camp practices.”

The hat he constantly wears during camp should be more concerning than his injury.

Its been what, 8 months since he hurt it? seems like an awfully long time for a fucking spain to heal. Probably his way of not having to go thru the training camp 2 a days. Fucking pussy.

Brian Urlacher's sore knee definitely bears (no pun intended) watching as training camp proceeds. Needless to say, the Bears need their star linebacker when they do count.

I'm pretty confident that we just drafted his replacement so everything should be fine.

He's fine....he's fine....he's fine.....we're going to have a scope done just to look around. Whoops...he needs surgery!

Was this not bugging him during offseason workouts?

Carimi was supposed to be back in a couple of weeks last year.

Didn't Columbo miss three years with a similar injury?

no, not Peter Falk Columbo.

From the "this can't possibly be a good sign" department: Earlier today on the Mully & Hanley Morning Implosion, Zach Zaidman began to argue that Urlacher's injury is worse than the Bears have reported. If Double Z is feeling skeptical about Urlacher's recovery, there's a strong probability that Urlacher had his leg amputated last winter and Lovie just decided not to tell anyone.

no, not Peter Falk Columbo.

First of all...

Moment of silence please for Peter Falk, the actor who played "Columbo" who passed away...Thank you.

Also, I think you're referring to ex-Bear Marc Colombo, who went on to a long career in Dallas.

When's the deadline for putting players on the PUP list?

I'm not sure. The Bears have already done so with WR Johnny Knox, but if they do so in the regular season, players miss 6 weeks to my knowledge.

I believe they changed that rule during the off season Shark. I cannot remember how long a person has to sit, if at all, under new PUP list rules.

Don't know why, but I have a feeling it's contract related. We'll see.

Hopefully this doesn't deter his ability to shake off lineman.

So do we know if Urlacher is still alive?

Jeff Dickerson on AM 1000 says he may have taken off for Europe to get stem cell therapy for his knee.

Mully says Urlacher may retire.

Many others are speculating that his injury is much worse than the Bears have reported. But no one really seems to know what's going on.

This whole saga doesn't seem like it's going to end well.

The offense still doesn't appear to have enough talent to carry the defense, and the defense is heavily dependent on Urlacher.

Has the season ended before it's even begun? :(

Talk me off the ledge, please.

From Bears Facebook;
Quote:
TEAM NEWS: The Bears have signed LBs Xavier Adibi and K.C. Asiodu and DE Aston Whiteside while waiving DT Ronnie Cameron and CB Jeremy Ware.
Not good. If they are signing LB's, Urlacher is probably done at least for this season. Very bad news.

Let's not jump to conclusions.

Urlacher is back at camp.

Teams are constantly bringing in and cutting players at this time of year.

Did they ever say what exactly the knee injury was last season?
