Take it for what it's worth, but saw this in the Miami Herald:

Two friends of Lance Briggs say the Bears' Pro Bowl linebacker has interest in joining the Dolphins next spring if Chicago doesn't satisfy his contract requests. The Dolphins need another impact linebacker to maximize their part-time use of the 3-4 defense.

I have very little hope that Briggs will be back. Some team will believe that he is the one who makes Urlacher and not the other way around. It would have been great if Ernie Simms fell to the Bears last year but it did not happen. It will be a priority in the draft this year.

Maybe we can trade Orton and the #32 pick to move into the top 10 and get Poslusznky.

Anyone know the Bears' cap situation? Will it even be possible for them to pay him?

Part of drafting D. Manning was so they did not have to pay M. Brown $5M next year, but now they need to give him something due to the injury, but agree with Dolphin that if they win it he stays.

Also he will like the place that pays him the most and I am guessing Miami might look for a WR and not look to spend too much on the LB as the primary need.

Look for the Bears to sign a similar player to briggs from another team. A player who is up and coming and the Bears know the guy will be better under Urlacher,

Look for Next years draft to be loaded with Offensive Lineman and a WR

There was some talk about the Cardinals losing their affection for Karlos Dansby. I liked him coming out of Auburn and would have no problem with him replacing Lance. I doubt it will happen though.

Take a look at the Sun Times today. Helmet Hair Kiper has him at #23.

He’s rated much higher in other publications. I’ll split the difference with you, Dolphin, we’ll trade the 32 and Airese Currie to move into the middle teens…

By the by, I’m sure Penn State’s underachieving season is not helping the kid’s cause, but his overall rating is also probably taking a hit due to him being undersized. That’s less of a factor in the Bears’ defensive scheme…

You have to be smart in today's NFL with the cap. You have to know witch good players not to pay. The Patriots are perfect examples. Let Briggs go because he'll be offered a shit load and you need to spend your money wisely. I like what you said Bucket. Sign somebody else who's got upside on another team for cheaper. He'll play better with Urlacher. Or find somebody in the draft. Angelo's good at finding gems in rounds 2-5.
