I want some serious answers (if possible).
What are Cutlers strengths and weaknesses?

My thoughts: He falls in love too much with what he see's downfield. He trusts his arm to make the deep throw when maybe a checkoff to a RB (if they are not blocking) or TE might be the wise move. I guess others have said his form is wrong, but when you are running for your life so often, you will be throwing the ball off your backfoot, throwing side-arm or whatever.

I still think the Bears can win with him,but I would keep him on a short leash. He is starting to look more and more like Jeff George.

He isnt real accurate and he needs to work on that. If that takes shortening his throwing motions, but he throws a ton of balls high. What saves him is that he has such a strong arm it gets there in a hurry, usually not enough time to go for the pick on those throws.

Would I like him to be able to throw the ball with the expectation of the WR making a break, Yes. Just dont think we will see that.

The Cutler thing pisses me off. He's not the pro-bowler we all thought/hoped he'd be. Now the cliche is "he's jeff george." The media has turned on him and since he's not good, he must be the worst guy that ever lived.

He has developed no sophistication with when to give up on a play, resulting in more sacks, hits and interceptions than the savvy quarterbacks in the league who simply throw the ball away.

1. He falls in love with one receiver and takes everyone else out of the game.
2. He still doesn't recognize that NFL DB's are better than college DB's.
3. He's too stubborn to listen and learn from his coaches.
4. He's not a good leader.
5. He holds the ball too long
6. He doesn't read defenses well
7. Never accepts responsibility for mistakes
8. He has a face that you want to punch

You don't know if these are true or not.

This is flat out wrong. I've heard him say, "Its on me," many times while on with Waddle & Silvy.

The rest of the list I agree to some extent with, but I couldn't care less what he looks like.

You're absolutely right I don't know if those things are true. They're my opinion based on what I've seen. As far as accepting responsibility goes I general don't believe him and think he's being an asshole when he says "it was my fault". That's what his body language and the way he says it leads me to believe. Of course I could be wrong.

If you were an analyst of some kind and were tasked to do this, you'd put so large an asterisk next to your results that it wouldn't even be worth it.

He didn't come to us a rookie, so we have a small slice of history to go on outside of the Bears. If you think that history in Denver (that was not a great situation, either) is anything to go on, then he is absolutely a QB that can run a no-shit NFL offense and keep you a perennial contender.

And lets not forget what Elway said about him - both good and bad. I don't know why you would write any of that off. He highlighted the ridiculous nature of the situation that led to him leaving Denver, calling it "difficult" for Jay, and yet hoping that he would have had gotten better advice so that he'd have stayed. That you don't give up on a talent like that.

So then you get to the Bears. This is beyond a bad situation. This was (and still is until further notice) a fundemtnally broken situation. The mental masturbation this city has engaged in over what Cutler is while they cannot run a legit NFL offense is just totally absurd and pointless. The list of caveats that are often mentioned before anyone makes a comment on Cutler is so long and fundamental to a QBs success that it just isn't worth debating what Cutler is until they can actually run an NFL offense. Until they can properly get a fucking play to Cutler. Until they can free their running back and tight end (when they get one - they had one until they traded him) from blocking so Cutler can have the additional two, vastly important targets to integrate into the passing game.

When things go well Cutler it is all smiles and jawing with teammates. When things go wrong, he isn't. I don't see any real differences from any other QB. Sure, I'd like him to be that QB that will engage his teammates on the sideline more. But what is he going to say at this point? Please be the player you are not?

Jay Cutler possess the physical skills (arm strength and mobility) to be a top-5 QB.
Jay Cutler does not possess a high football IQ for his position in knowing when to give up on a play and take the sack, or waste a play by throwing the ball out of bounds.

With this last observation I do not know if he is forcing plays because HE believes they can be made out of pure ego, or if he believes if he doesn't make the play the offense has no chance to match point for point with a superior team. That there is no time for patience because the offense is not skilled enough to make late game adjustments.

If it is the first, then I blame him for being a selfish dick and not putting the team before himself.
If it is the latter, I really can't blame him for trying to make something out of nothing.
