I know it has been talked about already, but given this weekend's 70+ point average across the four games, wouldn't some out of the box thinking be to hire a defensive minded coach that could build a team to combat these offensive heavy teams? If you can keep a decent balanced attack on offense and had a stellar defense, could you beat the systems that are being used today?

Nope. The only way to win is to outscore the other team and have a defense that is enough of a speedbump to slow the other team a little. SF gave up 24 at home in about 3 quarters.
