So Mel Tucker has 0 Pro Bowlers, back up safeties, rookies at DT and corner. Got 3 TOs and made some stops. Given 2 short fields bc of stupid turnovers by the offense.

The "genius" quarterback whisperer has Pro-Bowlers everywhere and 3 points in the 2nd half. Who should go?

Trestman really dropped the ball today. Not sure what he was doing today. We have great WR's and a really good TE but every pass play was 10 yards or less until they sent the house.

While Mel might not have the talent he wants, you do realize carolina had almost no RB's today. They had 3 guys who wouldnt make most NFL teams.
And he has K fuller, who was the Rookie of the Month on D and did a great job of shutting down Carolina #1 option, 1 on 1...you rushed 4 to shut out the rest of the offense...thats 6 other players to cover Greg Olsen and Cothcery?

Jennings is a high paid pro Bowler.

Give me the Defensive high point in Mel Tuckers NFL career and it is never in the top half of the NFL teams.

I blame Tresty for complacency, I blame Tucker for always having the excuse, I blame cutler for the bad throws....but in the end, if someone is going and someone needs to go....it's Tucker. Simple.

The Bears spent some money on Defense this year and they drafted D players. They cut certain guys, Wilson and Hayden.....now that goes right to the D coach....so he is telling me he has NFL D quality players....

It's a team that needs a fire lit under their ass.

As much as I like Tresty....he might not be the guy....which would be terrible....but a shakeup needs to happen. parts are there, they need new alignment.

The parts are not there. This is not a really talented football team. They have two good WRs, a good RB, and a bunch of dogshit/unproven players.

Mel Tucker sucks out loud but besides that the point is, without necessarily explicitly saying it, everyone sold themselves on the idea that the defense wouldn't matter because this was a juggernaut on offense ... Gladys Knight & the Pips (aka Bitter Beer Face & the Big Black Three) would lead us somewhere into the postseason so fuck the rest of it let's go football whoooooo ... what the hell were any of us actually expecting anyway?

Tucker has gotten a raw deal with Allen being washed up and Houston being a bust.

I wanted Houston real bad on the Pack as a 3-4 DE. Dodged a bullet as he looks like he was looking to get paid and now checked out.

I don't think many looks sold themselves on that idea. I think many fans knew the team wasn't good.

Can't ever tell me a coach or a DC has no say in aqcquiring top talent. Whether it is a FA or or top draft picks, every DC or OC has a huge say. Maybe not the final say, but Tucker is not just showing up and finding players. Between the 2 DLine picks and the 4 FA signings for the DL and the rentention of 92....Tucker is not even close to blameless due to the talent.

That's the one I don't get. I think Hayden got hurt again but I don't understand not keeping Wilson. He flashed in preseason and he knows what he's doing.

No way he's not better than sticking Brian McRae back there. He could never play CF.

If Wilson is back there, they aren't just flipping 20 yard passes down the middle at will.

Hayden told them if they cut him, dont call him again and ask him back....which shows what an ass he really is....I think he forgot about the 5$ mill he got the year before to do nothing and rehab his neck injury. Wilson, might have got under their skin with the an apparent assumption he was making the team.

But you cant tell me those guys are not better than what they are running these days.
