maybe so, but they have played very well (for the most part) as a team

the 2005 white sox didnt have any real 'stand out' stars, but they seemed to do all right

thomas jones had 1300 yards last year. i'm not saying he's great but i'm sure there's a few teams out there that would take him in a minute. moose was a pro-bowler before krenzel, hutchinson and orton were his qb's.

Krenzel and Hutchinson never threw a regular season pass to Moose. And, while he's played better this year, he's certainly not playing at a pro-bowl level with Rex.

I figured that would be your list, but I’ll take Eli over Rex. Also figured you’d put him ahead of Vick…

Does this help you? I do think Grossman has potential to be great but I know he isn't one of the best QB's in the league yet.

even though rex has more int's than plummer i'll take rex over plummer and garrard. garrard's a back-up. i'd take manning, romo and huard over rex! i'd put rex over vick though.

huard has 11 td's and 1 int. it doesn't take genius to figure that one out crumbs!

john is just saying that he'd take a guy who has played/started in 5ish pro games over a guy whose played in 18ish......that's all.

So by that rationale Huard is also better than any other QB that has more then 1 interception. Who you crappin.

Nas I couldn't agree with you more. I think Manning should be playing better. Vick could be one of the most overrated athletes ever....

I'd like to see this offense with a Steve Smith. Moose would be the best number two in the NFL. And personally I think we have a good running back. His name is Cedric Benson. He was a number one pick at RB. Play the guy already.

Huard is a journeyman quarterback that couldn't win a job from Jay Feeley and Jay Fiedler. He is having a great season though. By your logic john Huard is also better than Brady and Manning because he has thrown fewer INT's. Romo has only play in 3 games but he is already better than Grossman. What is it about Grossman that you don't like john? Is it that you want Griese to start?

actually no. i want to stick with rex to see what he has in him but i think rex is the next jake plummer. we'll see, i hope i'm wrong. my logic with huard is that he has thrown less int's than rex with less experience. everyone likes to give rex a pass because he has only 16 starts and i think that's ridiculous. i've watched romo and rivers play this year and i personally think they have a stronger pocket presence and make better decisions than rex does.

QB rankings from ESPN.

Manning
Rivers
Brady
McNabb
Palmer
Grossman

There is a section where you can rank them too. Rex falls to 10 in that one.

Spaulding, those are just stat ratings from the first 9 games of the '06 season. I'm sure there's not a qualified analyist in the country that would take Philip Rivers over Tom Brady, Donovan McNabb, and Carson Palmer.

Good greif Bucket! Don't I feel like the Anne Maxfield of the CSFMB. You're right and I wasn't paying attention to that. I was more focused on ranking the QBs myself which may have a little more relevance to the thread.

I won't make excuses for my self because we all know what they are like. My mom was right nothing good happens after midnight. Thank you for the polite way in which you called me out on being a total dumba$$. I'll try not to let that happen again but I can't promise it won't happen.

Less talent is an understatement

Owens
Glenn
Witten
and two running backs that are in Jones and Barber that are better than anything Grossman has on his team.

Why can't people see a developing quarterback before their eyes?

when it's all said and done julius should have a better career than his brother but right now thomas jones is by far a better back than julius. thomas is a complete back. julius plays first and second down and then heads to the bench. thomas may not be LT or LJ but he's a decent starting running back.

When was the last time you saw TJ pick up a first down when the Bears were 3 and 1 or 2?

This was exactly what I said after the Miami game. It's not because he can't do it...Turner has become so pass happy that TJ doesn't get a chance to run on 3rd and short.
Although, at the end of the game against the Giants TJ did pick up 2 first downs on 3rd and short...and then he came out of the game and Benson picked one up to ice it.

hmmm.....
i don't know. the JJ vs. TJ argument is a tough call either way. the offensive scheme has so much to do with it.
do you guys think TJ will have 1300 yards this year?
is it a bad year if he doesn't?
not if the Bears go 13-3 in the reg. season....

that being said, I suspect there are Cowboys fans that would rather have TJ over JJ.

Nice to see you come around on the Thomas Jones argument Nas. Right now after looking at all of the backs stats in the league I've got Thomas Jones ranked 16th in the league.
