No matter who the Bears dealt Gabe to they weren't getting shit in return. The Bears were bent over a barrel and got the bare minimum in return for a guy that was probably going to get cut anyway.

That being said I don't see what the harm would've been in keeping him around for a year, even as a body.

Angelo was a shitty GM but scouts give you the info. And who was a Bears scout from 98 to 04?....Phil Emery.

So wait: Emery trades an Angelo pick who I'd wager most people around here hated, yet nobody blames Angelo for picking another 1st round lineman who can't stay healthy. The immediate task is to pile on Emery by vicariously associating him with all of Angelo's draft woes.

I am absolutely not an Angelo guy at all. Like I said....he was a shitty GM. I was trying to point out the fact that the current GM comes from the same group responsible for past shitty picks. It seems this entire scouting department needs a total enema. Using the same scouts that evaluated past picks doesn't seem like a real smart move going forward. And I'm sure Emery worked with a majority of them.

Fuck that. Just another of the many on this board that look for any reason, no matter how mundane, to shit on everything. Angelo was crappy at drafting, this isn't news. Emery's not winning people over but he could still prove out. Unfortunately most of you assholes are trigger happy to just burn the whole fucking thing down when it comes to the Bears.
