Are the Chicago Bears on the verge of switching quarterbacks?
With Rex Grossman struggling, the Bears are apparently preparing a possible move to Brian Griese. The backup quarterback is receiving half of the reps in practice this week, an unnamed player told the Chicago Sun-Times on Saturday.
Griese has sidestepped the brewing quarterback controversey surrounding the 10-2 Bears.
''None of this really matters to me,'' he told the newspaper. ''I have one job, and that's to go out and prepare just like I have the entire season, and that's what I'm going to do this week.''
Grossman has struggled mightily after looking like a star at the beginning of the season. Even he is perplexed at his downward slide.
"I just am so confused why I do some of the things I do," Grossman told the Sun-Times. "It just doesn't make any sense to me. It's not a matter of confidence. It's more of, what is making me do these things?"
He might not be doing those things long if the Bears decide to make the switch to Griese.
