Cut Conte and Wright for sure. Literally. With sharp knives.

What's wrong with Ford? I think he could be a good complimentary back and he did good on special teams too,I think.

What's the reasonable minimum one could hope to sign Bennet for? Who would be better at/below that price?

It would probably cost more than Wilson, so my hope is they just go with Wilson. Who's cheap and on a 4 year deal. Plus, they signed that Chris Williams kid who could be the last spot, and may also be the kick returner replacing Hester or complementing Weems.

Ford has a future in the league. DO NOT cut him. He costs nothing and will be returning kicks at the very least next year. Sooner cut Bush.

I got a lap dance from a Native American stripper in Oklahoma named Sooner Cut Bush.

Hester will be added to corner/safety.

Seriously, it seems like Hester is still a threat on returns. I'm not against keeping him for the right price.

If I am going to have a short WR he is going to be really fast!

You would be best served to trade shea away to some AFC 3-4 team. The Pack will be all over him to be a rotation OLB rush specialist.

THREAT, but he fumbles too many and he is no longer a speedster who can break away

I've been pumping this idea for weeks and determined that a trade to the Jets for their underperforming 2nd Rd receiver Hill would be a fit.

I look at Shea as Aaron Maybin. You hate to hate the guy but he just isn't big or good enough. Maybe he makes a little noise with a different team

I cant imagine even giving up a 2024 7th round pick for Shea. His trade value has to be 0.

That's why you make a your shit for my shit trade. It helps both sides save face. I thought there was some WR swap between two teams last year in training camp with a similar scenario.

Illini Legend A.J. Jenkins was traded from the 49ers to the Chiefs for Jon Baldwin.

I see your point, but if I'm a GM I just plain don't want Shea. He's a waste of roster spot.

No need for name calling Frank. I'm sorry you thought I was being serious that the Bears should cut 51 players today.

why cut michael ford? he's cheap. Personally, from what I saw during the pre-season as a runner during the pre-season he looked like a straight line runner with limited lateral mobility... i dont see a NFL future as a RB.

shea has no trade value, give him an entire off-season at LB, if the early results in camp are not positive he has to be cut in August. If you can acquire some other team's bust for shea, maybe.... but the guy would have to have measurables to at least give some kind of hope for a turnaround

can the bears even afford to get rid of all of their 3 safeties? (conte, steltz, and wright). I've never heard of a team dropping their top 3 safeties even if they are all garbage players. They'd have to get at least one starting safety in FA and draft 1-2 if you get rid of all 3 of those guys.

peppers will be cut for cap reasons

bring tillman back if cheap incentive laden contract can be structured

I wouldnt pay tim jennings top dollar. I like him as a player but not if he gets paid as a #1 corner

I hope ratliff comes back

I dont know paea's contract status but if he has one more year i'd keep him because it has to be cheap dollar-wise.

podlesh can def. go away

michael bush should be cut as well, he's OK but not worth whatever his 2014 salary is

I'm fine with cutting earl bennett too, let wilson be the #3 WR (a 7th round rookie can't be making much money)

hopefully melton can be retained at a discount due to his ACL injury, may not help you much in 2014 but 2015 he could be a force again (he may flock to wherever lovie smith lands though, he was lovie's dev. project)

i think emery has to trade down in the draft if no one at #14 wows him , acquire as many mid round picks as possible to try and fix the defense as quickly as possible. Its not like they need to build a top ten defense here... just top 20, something that isnt the dumpster fire this defense currently is

I can see where "stupid" could've been misconstrued as meaning he was stupid, rather than you ... sorry, I mean, his list. :eye:

Ford could start in this league. Cut Bush instead.

I understand the win now what have you done for me lately mentality that grips these leagues that are worth billions, but coming into this year, we thought the safety thing was finally solved. Both Conte and Wright not only had good years in terms of team defense and scheme in 2012, but had solid individual performances, too. These were two guys who earned jobs on a really good defense.

So for me, I'm definitely more suspect of coaching over guys who looked like they good play, and now suddenly cannot. Bad years happen. Everyone had a bad year. Conte was a fucking mess. But I just feel that bad years happen and are definitely compounded, and even partly caused, by terrible coaching situations. Maybe not even actual coaching (although Tucker's history is one of not even being able to effectively call blitzes, let alone disguise them), but a guy that just does not fit, after having a head coach that built and continually nurtured a great defense, can be a real problem that isnt something we can touch on, in a tangible sense. Those are big shoes to fill.

I understand the scheme and language didn't change, but the sheer number of guys that tanked this year cannot only be attributed to age, or from finally being outed as incompetent football players.

From all the numbers that people like Spiegel are putting out there, after the fact, Mel Tucker's history as a coordinator flat out sucks balls. And that fumble-bumble is a perfect example of a defense that just could not give a fuck.

I wouldn't be upset if everyone was gone. I'm probably missing a couple players.

Podlesh might have had the worst game out of all the Bears yesterday. Just a miserable game and all the fuck has to do it kick the fuckin ball.

Only ones I don't agree with. Shea mostly because they drafted him so high and they have to see if they can get something out of him next year, or something for him in return. Wouldn't mind seeing him at LB at this point, similar to a Roosevelt Colvin situation maybe.

Agreed. He is done, let him break the record elsewhere. He isn't getting a 100 rating for speed in Madden after this season.
