Would he fit? Would you draft him?

Could he possibly be worse than Johnny Jerkface?

His last TD throw was a perfect rope. I'm in 110% on the Manziel wagon.

You should watch the tape of how this guy throws -- it's not very good technique.

This is going to be like a Vince Young type bowl effect for him -- definitely moving up from this game, but ultimately he will not amount to much in the NFL.

The Bears don't need a midget quarterback. I'd rather try to get McCarron.

I thought Cade McNown was gonna be great, so don't ask me.

You weren't the only one. I think it might have been Kiper who said he was the most NFL ready QB in the draft.

JF is going to get to play somewhere. he is going to light it up RGIII style and then took a massive hit that will KO him for the season, then maybe one more and he will never be the same.

Watched his whole game last night, impressive as could be, but that jump over the guy on the ground and then still have time to cut outside? In the NFL he gets flattened while in middair.

Manziel is best in broken plays, his ability to scramble and make throws is very impressive.

There is a reason Brady, Manning and even Brees are the best at what they do...for a long time. They sit in the pocket.

Also helps to be 6'6" when looking downfield...Flacco and Foles.....even Jay at 6'4" you dont see running too much.

Just cant rely upon the 5'10'ish player to be my solution at QB for a longer period of time. Plus when everyone rushing him is 6'5"+ with arms up, he might not get such a view.

Love to watch the guy, but cant have him on my team.

The NFL is just not a running QB league. Even Kapernick and Newton, bigger guys who can run, have run less over time. They run when they can and when it is given to them, but they dont run as much as planned plays anymore.

This was my first thought as well.

Was looking over a Mock draft last night and they had the Bears taking Wyoming QB in 3rd round.

Anyone know anything about him?

"more controlled Johnny Manziel" interesting. On and off the field, I hope.

I will take the next Dan Marino.

I don't doubt Manzeil will be a bust. But maybe not. I distinctly remember Boers saying Ryan Leaf would be better than Manning when they came out. It is a crap shoot. Marino was last QB in 1st rd cuz coke rumors. Brady 6th or 7th rd? You just never know. I am too lazy but how many elite QB's (there are 5) in the NFL were high draft picks? Manning and no one?

I read a report that O'Brien was advocating for him with the first pick in his interviews with the Texans. I told Hawger last year that I doubted he would go in the first round. Obviously I am incorrect. I still view him as a developmental QB who should be drafted in the middle rounds.

I don't think so. Manziel can throw. He might be as good as a little guy like Brees. But it's just too risky to spend a high pick on a tiny guy.

Me too. I believe I made a joke about him being a 5th round pick during his Heisman year.

I've become a big fan. I think he's going to be a star.

bigfan makes a good point though. Injuries will always be a concern unless he becomes a true pocket passer.

This is how I feel. He could be great, but the risk for disaster is a little higher than your typical first round QB.

I think Manziel can be a great quarterback if the team he goes to designs an offense around his strenghts. If he goes to a team that makes him fit their offense he's fucked. Manziel obviously doesn't have the physical characteristics of most quarterbacks but his intangibles are off the charts. Put him in an open offense that allows him to be creative and he could do great things.

So, he would be worth about $18M a year then, right?

He's too inaccurate.

All are true criticisms and will lead to him washing out. It'd be great though if he succeeded. He's fun to watch.
