i only hope bears fans don't boo lovie smith if he is somehow recognized pre-game. he has his faults as a HC, but overall he was a decent coach.

Actually, if he wants to take it easy he should find a team that doesn't have a china doll for a QB. I put the over/under on Cutler games missed over the next three years at 10.

he was a good Head Coach, you can do much worse, but his defensive plan of letting the other teams make the mistakes isnt a plan to win a Super Bowl with, its a plan to keep a job and produce a decent record year after year.

2 deep safeties to pick off overthrown balls and erase teams going big play on you deep, is fine and it forces teams to execute 3rd down conversions. The problem is that the good teams pick apart 2 deep coverage and they execute on 3rd downs.

The sad part is that Lovies defense would have been fine with this bears team this year. Any defense would have been fine with this team. I still dont think Lovie makes any impact with the injuries this team had on defense. Its why I am looking forward to 2014 season. A serious focus on the defense with the return of some players could really be something special.

Peppers is the biggest part of this deal. he needs to take less money to start.
