I only see the Giants, Bears, and Steelers as viable options here.

I think it will be a tough choice between the Giants and Bears. The Bears seem to have a more interesting training camp coming up and more interesting players.

The weirdness of the Bears atmosphere would be too much for the HBO crew. They'd be gone in 2 days.

I think there was a thread on this last summer. I guarantee it will be the Bears.

I assume anything more than 3 months old was deleted.

While it makes sense for the NFL to force the Bears, I have a feeling it will be Giants or Steelers as well.

Can they force Cutler and Marshall to be on camera? If so, then I think Bears. If they don't have to be involved, then probably not.

Bennett alone would be worth 2 episodes.

I don't think the bears are all that interesting for a show like this. Cutler is definitely not, perhaps Marshall is somewhat. Trestman is new and a nerd. Perhaps if Urlacher were still here, but I'm not sure what jumps out about the Bears from am entertainment pov.

I think Cutler is far more interesting to the nation at large than we realize in Chicago, based on the reaction to all these talking heads to his every sneeze. I don't watch whatever show his wife is on but she also seems to be a national celebrity.

Maybe I'm wrong.

It's hard to tell what others outside Chicago think, but my guess it's more of a love to hate kind of thing. Waiting to see him fail so you can laugh sort of a thing. That sentiment is there, just don't know how interesting it is.

It could totally help or completely kill Cutler's image...I have a feeling we'd get 5 episodes of jerkface tho and I don't think the NFL is interested in that. If Peyton wins #2, then Giants. If not, I still think the NFL goes with the Steelers.

You guys are too pessimistic. This is the perfect opportunity for Jay's sunny personality to win over the hearts of the American public once and for all.

Though I wouldn't be opposed to the Steelers getting the nod if it means Ben wears his dumb hat for every interview.

-Cutler is a national polarizing figure.
-Marshall, you couldnt ask for me
-Marty Bennet, perfect for him. (quips)
-Briggs wants a media job
-Kyle Long, great media guy
-Trestman wants everything in the open.
-George McCaskey wants this type of more media friendly

Need a big fat guy veteran D Line guy!

LETS DO IT

A lot of good reasons for Bears as already stated. NY Giants for obvious market. I do think some of you guys may not understand how popular the Steelers are though. Huge and nation even world wide. If you go to just about any city in this country you will find a Steelers bar. It is crazy.

I think people are misinterpreting this somewhat -- these are the choices the NFL can use if it has to. If the 49ers want to go on Hard Knocks, and HBO is good with it, then they can go on Hard Knocks. I don't know that every coach would view the show as such a horrible disease/plague. There are certainly benefits of being on the show, although some (maybe most) would view it as outweighed by the media circus.

Maybe I'm misguided but I'd say the Bears are more loved than the Steelers. I don't think I've ever traveled to a town that didn't have a Bears bar. I don't remember as many Steeler bars.

Idk, I haven't seen a Bears bar here. I know they are in Phoenix. My friend went to the Steelers London game this season. There was a Steelers bar there. I am not making it a contest but my post was about HBO can figure out who will bring ratings.

I would love to see Sweaty Teddy step into the room to address the team as if he is a legitimate NFL personnel administrator.

Personally, I'd like to see how the Bears' legacy owners stack up against the idiot Bengals legacy owner (& his overmatched personnel director daughter).

I really wonder who is worse.

I think the Bears being halfway between a rebuild and going for it would make for high drama in training camp

Durkin's, Darkhorse, and Joe's are all "Steelers" bars in Chicago.

Well, our guy B. Marshall is too "Beat-up-wifey". Look, at least one player in every NFL locker room has hit or raped a women. At least one gang banger in every locker room too. We just don't know all of them.

Let's face it, there are thugs in every NFL locker room

Bernstein:

Beardown: Shit. Sorry. I mean bad people. Happy? Christ!!!!

Appears like Emery, Tresty and Co. don't want cameras to reveal the secret recipe to other franchises on how to consistently miss the playoffs.

I won the Internet prediction award today!

http://nfl.si.com/2014/05/07/nfl-hbo-20 ... ocks-team/
Quote:
The popular HBO reality sports documentary series Hard Knocks will be returning this year, and thankfully the NFL won’t be forced to select a team to participate in the program.

After the league and HBO struggled to find a team to participate last season, the NFL decided that it would have the final word on the selection of a team to appear on the television show if teams continued to dodge the invites.

That won’t be necessary for the upcoming season, as multiple teams have reportedly volunteered themselves, according to Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post.
