So in which game does Trestman elect to go for the patented 40+ yard FG on third down?

Never again will trestman make that mistake..I'm still convinced he thought it was Canadian rules n none of the assistants had the balls to tell him.

That's how I see it.

It sucks getting the Vikings late in the year as they will most likely be starting a rookie QB.

LOVE getting TWO dome teams in December AND the Cowboys who annually swoon in December.

Oh FF, don't ever change. The Bears are not losing to Atlanta, the Bucs, or twice to the Packers.

Looks like 6-10 to me. Maybe 7-9 if they're lucky. I think Bears fans will be pleasantly surprised to find letting go your best QB doesn't lead to an improved record.

You Packer fans. Remember the last time Trestman had 2 weeks to prepare for the game in Lambeau? Yeah, that was last year when the Bears won with their backup QB and a banged up defense.

Unlike his mock drafts Bears Expert Adam Hoge acknowledges other teams in the league exist when analyzing the Bears schedule. Has them 10-6 with a 7-1 home record:

Im sure that my prediction wont come exactly right for 16 games. But that looks like a 7-9-9-7 record to me. Atlanta and Tampa Bay will be good this year. If Rodgers doesn't get hurt Green Bay will be really good.

ha someone thinks the bears are going to lose to the saints when the game is played in the middle of december at night?

the first half of the schedule stinks (especially for season ticket holders), but if the bears can survive at or around .500 the last 5 home games are very winnable against warm weather or dome teams in november/december (tampa, minn, lions, cowboys, saints)

I'm a little concerned about how all over the place that schedule is. They play consecutive Thursday/Thursday/Monday games late in the year? That really messes up the routine.

15-1

Trestman's offense could not be a worse matchup for Lovie's defense on a purely theoretical level. Lovie will give you the short play all day and the Bears will take it.

Atlanta will be an offensive battle. Coin flip, especially in Atlanta.

Why will Green Bay be really good. They will be exactly who they have been in the past couple of seasons...a team with a bad defense and an offense that pisses its pants against physical defenses.

They would've won 12 games last year if Rodgers didn't go down. They went something like 0-5-1 in their first 6 games without him. So unlike some other teams in our division, its important to keep our franchise QB healthy because his backup isn't going to outplay him. The defense will be better this year. Cobb also missed significant time last year, same with Finley, who is still an unknown commodity this year. Like it or not, Lacy looks like a better RB than they've had since Ahman Green. And their offense held their own in the playoff game against SF last year. I don't buy your statement about physical defenses. Obviously elite defenses hold down even the best offenses in the league to some degree.

Are you forgetting that McCown wont be the starter for the Bears? When have you ever known Cutler to check down, take what the defense gives him, and make the safe throws? Hes going to try to throw it over the top 70% of the time and be as inconsistent as he has been his whole career.

You forgot Fabio suffered a thumb injury making him essentially useless after 25% of the season. Remember the name Andy Mulumba. The kid's going to be a star.

And the Bears defense was riddled with injuries. They were pulling guys off the street that ended up starting on the DLine. They will keep the Pack in check this year.

Kinda sorts, but I actually think this could benefit the Bears. Thanksgiving is a short week, but they know the Lions well. Have to treat the following game just like a regular week (off Fri, practice Sat, off Sun, etc). Then they have extra time to prepare for a tough NO offense, whom they saw last year and should be better equipped to handle this year.

Lets hope for Bear weather for the Dallas and NO games as well.

Agree (not on the 15-1) but this mess of non sunday dates is not going to help anything.

The "We are going to use it as an excuse" but......will be used often

10 yard outs all day. The same kind of shit that used to drive Bear fans crazy.

I didn't even address Lovie's offensive abilities. He started a QB controversy with a journeyman when he had a rookie who showed a lot of promise.

Like I said, you're assuming Cutler is going to make the right reads even though he's never been that guy.
