awesome, thanks.

Why do some have (tryout) next to names? Aren't they pretty much all just getting try outs?

Tryouts are not on 83 man roster yet.

@caplannfl: Former FSU LB Christian Jones has agreed to a deal with the #Bears, source said.

Getting him is like having an extra 3rd round pick.

That would be great. I really like him and I was real surprised he was not drafted. Most I saw had him rated like a 4th round pick

I do like what I've read on Jones. Failed drug test explains the UFA. Not deep at LB so he'll get a shot.

Former FSU LB and Winter Park Lake Howell High standout Christian Jones was expected to be selected in the 2014 NFL Draft.

But the draft came and went. Three days went by and Jones was not picked by a team, a surprising fall for a player that some analysts viewed as a potential fourth-round pick.

Jones will now try to make a pro team the hard way. He reportedly signed a deal with the Chicago Bears, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan.

FSU originally announced that he signed a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on Saturday, but a report from Big Cat Country, a reputable publication that covers the Jacksonville Jaguars, stated that Jones opted to sign elsewhere.

Jones reportedly failed a drug tests at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Jones, a three-year starter at FSU, follows in his father’s footsteps. Willie Jones played football at FSU in the 1970s and played defensive end for the Oakland Raiders from 1979-81.

Jones (6-4, 235) was a standup linebacker for FSU as a sophomore and junior. He was productive – totaling 151 tackles – but did not always appear comfortable. The Seminoles moved him to defensive end this past season, where he thrived. He posted eight tackles for loss, a career high, and played a key role on the nation’s top-ranked scoring defense (12.1 ppg) and third-ranked total defense (281.4 ypg).

Colt Lyerla should have been a priority for the Bears in UDFA.

Nice pick up on Jones.

Jordan Lynch is probably practice squad this year but I really think he can play a role in the NFL.

This is my favorite football "overview" on Lyerla. This is from the NFL.com Draft site. It says almost nothing about football, just story after story of blazing red-flag off-field issues and then finishes up with "Did not perform three-cone drill at combine because of groin injury."

I'm guessing Kyle Long gave them the real deal on the guy and let them know that he's a time-bomb that isn't worth the time investment.

OVERVIEW
Grew up poor in an unstable environment. Parents divorced when he was 9. Mother was on disability and unable to provide adequate structure, discipline and guidance, oftentimes relying on coaches to keep Colt in line, according to a September 2012 article in the Oregonian. Father moved to Hawaii during Colt's high school years and missed all his games from his sophomore year on. Consequently, Colt skipped stretches of class and was absent for meetings and practices, incurring suspension. Native Oregonian who won a state title and garnered all-state recognition as both a running back and linebacker. Ended a tumultuous recruiting process by committing to Oregon and then-head coach Chip Kelly. As a true freshman in 2011, had seven receptions for 147 yards (21-yard average) and five touchdowns in 12 games. Missed the first week of 2012 fall camp (undisclosed). On the season, started 9 of 13 games and contributed 25 catches for 392 yards and six TDs. In March 2013, tweeted a link to a video claiming the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting tragedy was a conspiracy, along with the comment: "The parents of the kids that supposedly died in the Sandy Hook situation are liars." Started three of the Ducks' first four games in the fall and had two catches for 12 yards and no TDs. Did not play against Tennessee because of the stomach flu, according to Lyerla, although head coach Mark Helfrich cited "circumstances." Was suspended against Colorado for violating team rules, then left the team Oct. 6 for personal reasons. Had his driver's license suspended Oct. 11 after getting four driving tickets in two years, then was arrested Oct. 23 for cocaine possession (pleaded guilty) after undercover officers reportedly spotted him using the drug in a car in a Eugene, Ore., parking lot. Did not perform three-cone drill at combine because of groin injury.

What does that matter? Emery spent a 4th on a far less talented TE with many similar red flags. Sign him up and kick him out the moment he causes trouble

Because, like Rodriguez, it would be a waste of a roster spot?
