I admire those on the board who are picking the Bears to do some special shit this year. I wish I could be brimming with optimism about another season of watching the beloved play, but I've seen this shit before and have no reason to believe they'll be better than 8-8 if they're lucky.

Bears really had no other option but to sign Cutler and the defense is just a barrel of aborted horse fetuses.

This coach is in over his head and Mel Tucker can go die in a fire.

Hopefully the McCaskey family all perishes in some sort of yachting accident so a corporation can come in and run the Bears like a business.

I will enjoy the shit out of the Bears if they're good. I'll eat crow until I can fly. But it ain't gonna happen.

Week 1 is a must win game. It will also be very telling with both Jackson and Spiller. I imagine that the Bills will plan to run until the Bears prove they can stop them.

I think they'll be fine. I'm confident they will win by at least 2 touchdowns.

Disagree bumpkin, I didn't want Cutler back..I was cool with Teddy Bridgewater n Mccown. I wouldn't have brought back Tilman or Garza.

Knee jerk fans who are ready to jump off of a bridge because of a practice game loss are lousy fans. It just isn't an indication of anything. Do any of you remember the 1985 preseason? For God sakes, calm the fuck down. The Bears will have a very good season. Enjoy it.

Dick Jauron's magical 13-3 year of Jeaniusness, was exposed when the Eagles manhandled the Bears. The WHOOPED THEIR ASSES! It was terrible! Ahmad merrit had that one play!!!!!! and that was it!!! it was done, through!

And my concern, no matter what the record is, that the Bears are a soft team and Seattle showed how they will take you out of a game.

It is not a mystery why Seattle, SF and even Baltimore, beat the crap out of the other team in the playoffs and win.

10-6, 9-7, 14-2.....I dont care.....if they get into the playoffs and get a beatdown like that again, then whoc ares what they did.

I'm as big of a Bears homer as there is, but I'm nervous as hell. I do think the defense is better. So far they aren't as good as I thought they would be, but that could just be preseason. Special teams is bad too.

So while I love the offense, and I think that will allow them to be in every game, I don't quite understand the fans putting them in the Super Bowl. Not jump off the bridge bad, but nervous.

Every Seattle player was faster and they came in like guided missles. Then there was the bears and we could grab Wilson, Lynch, Harvin, kearse.

Then all I get from ZZ is that they arent trying.

I understand Seattle is the best team, but thats the bar....and if it raised, and if 5 feet used to be a good jump, but now 8 feet is record, you jumping 5 ft makes you a bad high jumper!

I am withholding judgment until the season actually starts.

But I will say that the little bit I have watched and alot of what I have heard have me concerned.

The beauty of Carroll, at least with this team, is that he never lets up. I heard Hampton on the Game or MVP this week and he said that Carroll was a position coach back when he was at Arkansas, and that the guy was a psycho from the beginning. That said, in the reg. season SEA wins 34-16 so who cares. Still 9-7, maybe 10-6 with some injury luck.

The Bears looked terrible in the preseason of 1985. Many fans predicted a bad year ahead. Oops...

You should never ever draw a conclusion about a team based on a few practice games.

I expect some of you to soon demand that Jimmy Claussen start at QB for the Bears. "The Bears suck. Dey should start that Claussen kid".

Can I look at the roster and think they won't be a great team?

Sure, but the roster is better than last years.

Are you really trying to call others Meatballs after comparing this team to the '85 Bears? Oh brother...

The 84 bears won 10 games and a playoff game the year before ...horrible analogy

Looking at the roster would make you believe they will be a great team. While you are at home RELAXING for the next couple of weeks you will start to come around to my way of thinking. The Bears will win the Super Bowl this season.

This is by far the best roster we've had on paper since the 80's.

Well I'm not surprised that you completely swung & missed on this. You are really going out of your way to disagree with me.
There was no comparison of the 1985 & 2014 Bears. The point was that the Bears looked like shit in the 1985 preseason & there was much doom & gloom predicted for that team. Obviously those doom & gloomers were very wrong. Once again, those that think the sky is falling based on a few practice games are just foolish.

Yup. You & I will host the CSFMB Super Bowl party in Glendale, AZ.

No I'm not. Your logic is just wrong, regardless of what happens. One example of a team from 30 years ago who outperformed their preseason showing doesn't tell us anything. I could probably give you 200 examples of teams who sucked in the preseason and also sucked in the regular season. The reality is that either one could happen on a given year. And individual performances are absolutely fair to judge in the preseason. Shea Mcclellin sucks, for example, and I can tell that by how he plays in the preseason
