I blame the ownership first and foremost.

The players have some skin in the game too, but this ownership is embarrassing.

Any yacht accidents this weekend?

Ownership is it.

They want to keep the money flowing. Was there a lot of empty seats today? Expect the same until the seats aren't filled.

This team hasn't drafted right for years. The late, great Jim Finks always believed in the "best player available" when he generally managed the Bears in the '80s.

Signing multiple free agents is an attempt to cover for bad drafting.

That's a good answer. It's not just free agents. It's overspending on some.

sorry. it's only going to get worse. This is the Bills we're talking about. They are going to get their asses handed to them by good teams.

Might go higher than that.

Understood. But did you come into this season somehow thinking the Bears were going to be world beaters?

The Bears were missing Alshon for a lot of the game, and the offensive line was having a lot of troubles. Injuries to blame for both. The Bears can look better than they did today.

And worse. :)

The Bills were a running team coming in and they did not scheme for that? Anyway the franchise has not succeeded due to money. They have spent since the salary cap stuff has been going on. They have been making bad decisions. So if you are mad at George McCaskey it is for Phillips and the under hires not the money purse.

we just have a lack of reliable drafting added with meidocre coaching which stems from the ownership itself... otherwise its a good orgynation

Absoutely not. I picked them for 8 and 8. I also said they weren't going to stay as healthy as they were last year. Now 8 wins is going to be a good thing.

Money, drafting, and a lack of ambition. The McCaskeys don't want to get down and dirty. They just want to run their charming little Lake Forest country club and get fat on revenue sharing. They're not like other football teams. Why, Michael taught at Yale! This also manifests itself in their No Ditkas Need Apply hiring policy, which has yielded nice polite weirdos like Dick Jauron, Lovie Smith, and Marc Trestman because it's more important to Granny Al Davis to be a well-mannered gentleman than to do anything right as a football coach.

No. The early line first appeared on @BradBiggs' Twitter account.

The NFL is a very competitive league and the Bears are on organization that has not been competitively natured for a long time.

The problem is this is the year they need to be world beaters. It only gets worse from here.
