His stats didn't look bad.

After getting pummeled by the Green Bay Packers, 55-14, on Sunday, it was expected that there would be a shake up at Halas Hall.

The first domino fell on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bears announced that they have waived wide receiver Santonio Holmes and signed wideout Rashad Lawrence to the practice squad.

In nine games with the Bears this season, Holmes had eight receptions for 67 yards and nine punt returns for a total of 50 yards.

The 22-year-old Lawrence spent training camp with the Washington Redskins after going undrafted out of Northwestern. During his four seasons with the Wildcats, Lawrence registered 96 receptions for 1,165 yards and two touchdowns.

The release of Holmes likely means the Bears will be adding wide receiver Marquess Wilson to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. Wilson has spent the first nine weeks of the season on the injured reserve/designated to return list with a broken collarbone.

In a corresponding roster move, the Bears terminated the practice squad contract of linebacker Terrell Manning. Manning appeared in three games for the Bears this season, accumulating no stats.
