Last week Matt Forte became the only active RB in the NFL with 10,000 yards from scrimmage.

He's the only consistent thing about the Bears this season. Except for the defense consistently sucking ass.

I love him. He's under appreciated.

Who's going to be the one to say he doesn't break tackles?

He is. He carried the offense for a few seasons and has never even had an average run blocking offensive line.

and if he picked up his feet he might have gained 15,000!

I like the guy, but never seen a guy go one on one with guys and get brought down with one hand more in my life! and it seems like every time he has nothing but green in frotn of him when he goes down,

Darkside will love this!

Maybe at RB Forte stands alone, but Greg Olsen would drop if you just looked at him funny.

I just remember Olsen playing like he was 5'11" or he had a vert of 12"!

I was thinking about you and badrogue17 when Forte ran over a safety to get a 1st down against the Jets.

No he'd catch it and fumble it.

I'm a Forte guy but how many freakin' plays did he have 1 guy to beat in the open field yesterday and immediately get brought down for a 4-6 yard gain?

Make somebody miss or run through somebody.

I was thinking about it when he tried to shake guys one on one yesterday and broke 1 tackle, because the 17 rushes got 61 yards....and 2 of those rushes got you 29 yards!

So congrats on the other 15 rushes for a 2 yard average.

Best thing about him is his ability to hold on to the ball....

Those were 2 yard gains, he just gets the abll deep, runs wide...and while he runs 8 yards it's a 2 yard gain.

he had that one misdirection flip play they use and he got 14 yards on it, so you pulled a trick play and got a huge chunk. congrats,

He is what he is....and that is not the great back the media thinks he is....he is very good, very durable, great hands, great blocker, but runs upright and doesnt shake guys...

Yes, if he is one on one and needs 2 yards he should be able to run over D backs...which he does sometimes, but he cant and doesnt shake guys,....

Even the biggest forte supprter can't give me a memory of him shaking a guy...." A couch stander!" a play that makes you go WOW....

not a great blocker. maybe in comparison to some of the other chumps out there, but Walter Payton was a great blocker. not the same thing.

I was thinking more of the screen passes. Other than the one big gainer, I think his stats were something like 10 catches for 48 yards. He had a lot of open space and got nuttin'.

Not to start a new thread, but fuck you Martellus Bennett, turn around and block a guy and Forte has another TD on that big gainer.

You can't run if there aren't any running lanes. The Bears suck at run blocking and he got hit many times right when he caught or was handed the ball. He ran a few guys over yesterday and 1 play resulted into a huge gain.

If he would have just gone down easily when he fumbled that would have been nice. That wasn't the time to struggle for an extra yard.

He did run,...through a guy...a Db tried to arm tackle him with 1 arm, didnt get him...and he does get extra yards when 1 on1 with DB's...but he doesnt have moves to make guys miss....pretty much ever.

I agree the run blocking, pretty much all blocking, was atrocious yesterday. Worst of the year.

But, even when they got him the ball in space on the screens he had multiple opportunities to make 1 guy miss for a big gain and only got it done about 1 out of 10 times. Yesterday was not his best day.

Forte is shifty but has no afterburners. He is still one of the best RB's the Bears ever had.

 between this and the various Cutler threads looks like as long as conditions for them are perfect , they can get the job done. Wonderful.

No worse than #3. He's 2nd right now in yards from scrimmage. He should pass Payton in receiving yards in a couple of years. He wants to play until he's 34. If he's able to do that he'll have close to 20,000 yards from scrimmage. He's not great at anything but he's well above average at everything. That makes him elite.

The Ultraback was still better.

Ramon Harris. I couldn't remember which one had that nickname. Forte is a complete running back and Harris wasn't.

Edit: His numbers were average too.
