I believe that the offense, as currently constructed, can compete every single weekend with any team in the NFL. This leads me to believe they have the talent to be a playoff team. I cannot deconstruct a team I think cam make the playoffs.

I think they have to be better than last year but not as good as year before. Simply with professional coaches. The defense cannot be worse. So 8-8 at worst I think. Therefore, I agree with you.

The OL, an undervalued component from Trestman Year 1 was decimated by injuries. Slauson, their best lineman from Year 1, barely played. Garza wasn't available at the start of the season. Long missed time.

The WR did not get separation because they too were injured.

I am as bullish on the Bears as I was at the start of last season.

Depends on how you look at it. They went 5-11 (or 5-10) with him...do you think the results could have actually been worse with someone else starting? As much as McCown wet the bed in TB (with no supporting talent and an even worse coaching staff), I think he would have managed at least 5 wins with the Bears.

That the team has a lot of problems to fix, and given how bad they were last year and how tough the schedule appears to be next year, they aren't likely to contend anyway.
