While much of the Super Bowl anaylsis is focusing on Rex Grossman and his struggles, not much has been made of the Colt defense.

The Colts this season gave up an average of 22.5 points per game, the highest of any Super Bowl participant. Your talking about 82 teams. Dead last.

There have been only two teams to win the Super Bowl that did not rank in top ten in scoring defense since the merger, Raiders in 1976 and 1980.

If the Colts were to win the Super Bowl, it would certainly be bucking the trend.

And if Grossman is one of the worst QBs to play in a Super Bowl, the Bears might be playing one of worst defenses.

True, but in the post season it's been totally different now that Sanders is truly healthy.

Well, if you've really paid attention to these games in the post-season, you'll notice every team gave up on the run. The Colts did stop the run well early. But the Colts are a small, quick team. You've got to continue and be patient and stick with the run. If the bears don't panic and continue to hit us hard with the run, especially Benson, then the Colts may struggle against the Bears running attack. Thomas Jones is the type of running back the Colts defense likes to play against. Someone who tries to make some cute moves before going forward. It's the guys like Benson that kill us. The Bears can't lose faith in that running attack if it isn't there early. And i think they have the right types of coaches who will stick with it until they get success which is why I'm scared.

I, unlike Nas (go figure), don't see Rex hurting much at all. The Colts D was built to stop guys like him who thrive off of the big play. We most likely aren't going to allow that Berrian - Rex 35 yard connection. Grossman is going to have to use Desmond Clark and trust Muhammed. I like the Bears O-tackles vs. the Colts D-Ends. This is a matchup I find very favorable for the Colts in this one and could be the reason why the Colts win (if they win). That's why the Bears must run 40 times plus in order to win.

Of course, this could be all for nothing if Devin Hester has 2 kick return TD's. I'm telling you now. I have this bad Desmond Howard MVP feeling...ugh.

So do I. They better squib and punt out of bounds all day and not let him be the reason we lose. That's my number one worry of everything. Our special teams coverage absolutely sucks.

For the uninformed, how is Vinatieri on kickoffs? He doesn't seem like the type of kicker that can put it 8 yards deep to force a touchback...

Rex is gonna be nervous and jacked up at the start of the game. He just will. It's his nature. He will throw a bad pass early that will get tipped by our receiver. My hope is it falls safely to the ground and not picked. Then he'll settle down and be fine. But we got to get him though his first few passes.

Nas, my bad. I figured you over drank the koolaid and expected those things. You're right on actually.

Vinatierri is pretty good on kickoffs, but not if he is kicking to Hester. The ball goes anywhere from the 5 to about two yards deep in the end zone. Hester is returning all of those. I remember when the Bears drafted him and I was so pissed. He was one of my sleepers going into the draft and a guy I was hoping the Colts would take.

I can only hope for Rex to be like that and throw one of those passes like he did to Jason Taylor except this time in Dwight Freeney's hands for a TD the other way. Aww...that'd be a great start. :D
