Almost certainly won't play in Week 1 pre-season and is probably questionable, at best, for Week 2. He'll probably make his Bears debut in Week 3.

There's a decent chance he opens the season with less snaps than anticipated, but hopefully that will change quickly if his role is kept relatively simple early on.

What happened here?

He was a guy who needed this training camp because of his limited exposure to sophisticated route running. Now, I expect they will have to dumb things down throughout the year.

I don't believe for a second that it is only shin splints
