Either this guy doesnt want to be here or he is about as fragile as it comes. No doubt he can make a great catch, he holds the ball to the end as good as any WR, but if he thinks he is getting a #1 contract deal he is crazy.

Its been 2 months since he has been declared healthy and that was Day 1 of camp when he got his first pulled finger and he sat as a "precautionary measure".

You know this guy wants close to #1 WR top dawg money, ya shouldnt be even considering this, especially now! Guess who should be on the trading block! Unless he is considered a top FA and you get something when he leaves, but I dont see how he is considered a top player if he plays 18 snaps this year.

get him out of here.

I dont think so at all. Then you need to pay him, for what? another year of "Didnt participate" weeks.

He should be gone, soon...if you make a mistake an turns out to be great elsewhere, so be it, but the guy is never ready, cant rely on him for big money.

Playing lame isn't the way you make big money even if your team is bad. You go out there and make your team better. If he gains
back his weight and slows down half a step he'll never make it past #2 money. I really wish we had White in this year to push him and
see what we have.

I wouldn't risk a payday coming back to have Jimmy fucking Clausen throw it to me. Blame non-guaranteed contracts or something, Alshon is doing the right thing.

I'd do the same thing he's doing.

If I was him I'd something somehwat similar to Jeremy Maclin

He signed a one-year deal in Chip Kelly's gimmick offense and then suckered Chiefs into handing him 5/$55M

Jeffries should continue alienating Bears to force their hand in giving franchise tag or become free agent and sign one-year deal to pump up stats. THEN sign the big deal.

Alshon Rose has a pretty good podcast.

I still think the way Adam Carolla fired her was pretty fucked up.

I have no idea why people want Marshall back. I will now quote the inevitable response:

Quote:
Because I like good receivers and want to win football games?!

Marshall wasn't traded because of his play on the field. I liked that he played through injury and the guy was a fiery competitor, but he's an asshole so fucking awful to harbor in a locker room that you gotta cut it away, even if you take a bigtime loss on the return. I'm guessing, however, that because Bernstein championed himself as the "Get Marshall Out of Chicago" bandwagon leader, most people simply take the opposite stance out of pure spite.

Don't let your contempt of Bernstein cloud your thinking. Marshall was a shitwagon and needed to go.

It never is.

Stat accumulator on bad teams for his whole career.

That isn't proper analysis. Proper analysis is whether the team is better or worse because of his presence on the team

He was hardly a "stat accumulator" with the Bears although his stats were outstanding

...to a contract that made his immediate release cost the Bears precisely $0, but made them look bad, which they already did in the first place, so it didn't matter.

Fangio lobbied for him, Pace did all his due diligence with McDonald's family, who obviously wanted to lie their asses off about Ray in order to get much-beloved moneys, and Pace went to Virginia and George for their blessing, which they gave.

The McCaskeys are already a known commodity of football stupidity, so obviously their approval would be easy.

But hey, fire Ryan Pace because he's Phil Emery or some such nonsense. I'm not going to debate with you, dolphin, because you're just another one of these fans that wants the Bears to be burned down every season and rebuilt under some non-existent and never-will-occur system. Just find another team to give a shit about because this one will never satisfy you unless there is some sort of massive death storm that cleanses the entire organization.

----

And who really gives a fuck if Alshon is out? You want this guy to play and fuck himself up in a season that isn't and never was ever going to go anywhere? He's gonna get franchised. If they sign him to a long term deal, it may work out, it may not. If he goes elsewhere and succeeds people will be furious because the Bears were "cheap." There's no right decision any GM can make on this team. Ever.

The answer would seem to be that for all his numbers it really doesn't matter if he was there or not.

Yes he was. He was getting big numbers on offenses that were normally below average to bad.

Of course then the Score hired a guy that often got into fights with teammates (once at a gun range), wouldn't take coaching or shotgun snap and was a cancer in the locker room. With no on-air talent or history to boot.

And put him on the show with the SJW who lobbied the hardest for Marshall to go.

You word that as if it's a totally reasonable and easily done course of action.

It's stupid that people are outraged over Marshall not being on the roster anymore, as if Pace nefariously planned on the never-injured-in-college Kevin White and not-known-for-being-a-diva Alshon Jeffery getting hurt. How dare Eddie Royal be totally underwhelming and Marquess Wilson not develop beyond the talent promised by his being taken in the 7th round!

Injuries happen and not every acquisition is a victory. Eddie Royal was a good signing on paper to be a steady Y to Jeffery's X with White and Wilson developing as the Z options.

I am with everybody else that wants new ownership, but the only way this ownership sells is if the attendance bottoms out, and the Bears have proven that even when they're dogshit fans will still show up.

I still am not seeing any evidence or even an argument from you about how that's his fauly, even partially. He was on the Broncos, Bears, Dolphins, and Jets. Those last three teams have sucked for almost a decade or longer. It's not because of him.

As a player Marshall is still pretty good when healthy, tho I don't think nearly as good as he once was. Putting that aside, I don't think Marshall is on a positive trajectory career wise as he is aging -just a fact of life- and therefore doesn't seem like the best choice to have a around on a team that needs a complete rebuild anyway. Couple that with his borderline insanity disorder and it makes sense to just part ways with the guy like the Bears went and did.

Pace has made some questionable moves in his short time with the Bears -and as an early observation of the guy, I don't think much of him (Pace)- but I don't consider the cutting loose of Marshall a bad move for the Bears. I can see why a team that thinks they might be a player or two away from doing something would take a chance on him tho, he is still a good football player.

On topic, I go back and forth on whether or not the Bears are trying to devalue Jeffery by holding him out longer with his injuries in a meaningless season in hopes of lowering his cost to resign due to diminished stats, Jeffery and his management team wanting a newly minted high value contract before risking any more physical NFL punishment or.. Jeffery really being legitimately hurt.

And lets be honest here, its the Bears we're talking about here so all these possibilities have merit.
