My buddy and I went to 3 Floyd's for lunch and a couple of cases for carryout, and we see Jurko in the parking lot walking up as we did. He was grabbing two cases of Zombie Dust that he said was to settle a bet. He couldn't have been friendlier. A real man of the people.

I love 3 Floyds beer but I hate everything else about their business. The place sucks, the workers suck, the management sucks...

Can you expound upon this? I'd like to hate them too, I just don't know why yet.

They may have changed since I went a few times a couple years ago but...

The place was small and people were packed in like sardines.
The food was expensive and not that great.
The workers were all rude hipsters.
The manager acted like a dick when I had a complaint about something.

The beer is great though. I love it.

You've gotta go to a remote. You tell him that you're from the board, and he'll buy you a drink ASAP.

Couldn't agree more. I've been there a few times and I have said the same thing every time I go in there.

I really wish I could get their beer by my house but nobody carry's it out this way.

Beer is great, but the food was just eh. Met Jurko at Durty Nellies in Palatine. Same on the air as he is in person, except with more cursing. Great dude. For whatever reason (I assume alcohol), he had his pants at his ankles while standing at the bar right after the show. This was when Mac was still host, but on a hiatus, so Carmen was subbing.

WSCR should hire Jurko and give Spiegs the LoHO treatment.

That beer is awfully hoppy. I guess that's their trademark though. I'm not really a beer guy but my friend Beer Snob Bob assures me that their are many superior brews to anything made by Three Floyds.

Ask him what breweries those would be. I can't think of many that are as good as 3 Floyd's.

JORR's friend is too hipster for 3 Floyd's? That's pretty damn hipstery. Spanky is jealous.

Like I said, I'm not a beer guy, but Beer Snob Bob is a guy who really knows his shit. Next time I see him I'll ask him some of his favorites. I'm only slightly interested in craft brewing, but from talking to him I get the idea that he thinks 3 Floyds is overhopped. You know way more about this shit than I do. Maybe it's just a matter of taste. I think he speaks highly of Revolution Brewing.

 If you ever saw Beer Snob Bob, hipster is about the last word that would come to mind.

The hops are what give the beer flavor. What kind of beer snob doesn't like hops?

There are plenty of beers with very little hops. Beers like Miller Lite and Coors Light come to mind.

I think there should be a balance to ingredients. I've sat around with a roomful of beer snobs and listened to them knock 3 Floyds. These aren't casual guys either. I'm talking about loons that eat, sleep, and breathe beer and brewing. Guys that hang out at the Map Room. But like I said, I don't know. I'm fine with a yellow American macrobrew.

The best beers are so bitter they are undrinkable. You just smell them.

Not every beer from 3 Floyd's is a hop bomb. Is it possible that these guys don't like 3 Floyd's for reasons other than the beer itself?

Sure, that's possible. And I don't think Bob hates the Three Floyds products. There are some he likes more than others. But I know if you asked him for a quick summary of that brewery, he would answer "Hop Kings".

No.
This was the day that Grid got some drunken twat to pull of Harry's toupee.

I remember you texted me... and when I got there i said, dude, I don't text.
Now I text more than I texted ever before. I'm a text machine.

Yeah... memories... in the corner of my miiiiiind....
I think i was pretty lit on 312 pitchers that night.
And... if memory serves, Jurko knocked out a nice chunk of our bar tab that day too.
