My man crush on Patrick Sharp of the Blackhawks has been well documented. With that in mind, I was at the Tony O game tonight at the UC, and after a stirring victory, my friends and I shared a few pops at the Ketel One Club afterward. While we were all walking to our respective cars along Madison after the festivities, a dark BMW SUV pulled up along side us, and the driver yelled "HEY, nice jersey!" to the group, even though all of us were in some manner of Hawks attire. It took a moment to register, but it was Patrick Sharp yelling at me in particular, because I was in my red #10 sweater, complete with the alternate's "A", and he apparently appreciated the fact that I was donning his uniform. It only finally dawned on us after he pulled away, but the cartoon hearts were already afloat in my general vicinity. It was a very cool gesture on his part. |
