I met Dave when he was the pre & postgame host of White Sox baseball on their former flagship along with Bruce Levine at the Bullpen Sports Bar. Dave did a real good job calling Sox pre & post, plus occasionally pinch hitting for John Rooney on network assignment when ESPN Radio 1000 had the Sox radio rights. While he currently calls the Rays on radio, I'm convinced bringing Dave back would be a big upgrade for his hometown team. Ed Farmer is no John Rooney, and I feel he'd be best suited as the analyst on WSCR 670 with Wills as the PBP. With Steve Stone shifting to TV next season and Darrin Jackson rumored to be joining the new MLB Network, it only makes sense to bring Dave back to call his true hometown team, even if he has to call 3 games a year at "The Shrine" 8.1 miles North.
