Tonight, at the Cubs game - he sang the 7th inning stretch. Got his autograph afterward, despite the fact that he had a Bee-lite in each hand and 'security' trying to keep me from getting it. He stopped, handed Adrianne one of the beers and signed for me. I already knew this, but he can't be more than 5'3", tops. I got a fuzzy pic, maybe I'll post tomorrow.

This was an awesome 'get' for me, I was a HUGE fan as a 'kid' - and still follow their music today. My only regret was not asking him for some ducats for tomorrow's show......maybe Adrianne was carrying some extras - crabby as she was.

Me and a friend have hung out a couple of times with Billie Joe's brother, Tim Armstrong, of Rancid. We saw him at a club the band was playing, struck up a conversation about--and I kid you not--the concept of the general strike (mentioned in one of their songs)--and got invited out with him to talk about industrial unionism, Rosa Luxembourg and Marxist dialectics. At the parties we attended, many hot girls were falling all over him as the three of us chatted about Second International Marxism. My friend got to bang a couple of hot chicks as a result while I...got to display my "impressive" knowledge of evolutionary socialism. :(

You sure know how to party!
2 hot blondes - "hey TM wanna have a three way?"
TM - "Sorry, have to enlighten these rockers on Marxism, maybe later"

I had a dream I was a punk rock band's side kick
My name is Midge I'm a lesser- known character
I had a dream I was tim armstrong's side kick
Having socialistic chats instead of getting laid

Do you want to party?

I talked to Munky and Head about 7-string guitars and Midge discusses evolutionary socialism with Tim Armstrong.
sounds about right.

fyi: Tim & Billie are not related.

Huh. Thanks for the correction. Before we approached Armstrong after the Rancid set (this was at a club in Virginia), he instructed me "not to mention the guy from Green Day." Since I've never been a Green Day fan, this wouldn't have been a problem for me, but I always assumed he said this because of some sibling rivalry between Tim and Billie Joe. Guess not.

It is a rare occasion when I feel less hip than Tallest Midget.
