all of you Brush With Fame fans know I seem to have a long history with the Rev. We literally have bumped into each other on several occasions and we seem to have an almost annual interaction.

Anyway, I was in our great nation's capitol over the weekend taking my boy through his first steps towards world domination. I took the last flight out last night and who is sitting there behind me at the terminal but jesse. I gave him a nod of acknowledgement and everyone else pretty much left him alone. He has a plain clothes security detail that I am sure is paid for by his "not for profit" just in case anyone tried to get to close.

I was shocked to see him in coach with the rest of us slobs. I had heard stories from an inauguration where the biggest of hitters from the Illinois delegation all sat in coach while Jesse traveled in first class. I guess times must be tough

If you've been inside Rainbow Push recently you would notice it is pretty empty and Jesse may not be doing as well as he once was.

He looked incredibly healthy for a 72 year old.

Jesse is a big, strong guy. I am sure he did some battling with his fists in the early days of the movement.

I believe he's done some of that recently.

I've been on two 6-7 am flights out of Midway to DC & Jesse was on both. On Southwest. Once in '88 before the DNC (& with Secret Service in tow), and each time he had the relatively empty planes laughing...and on time.

And watch it Chus....don't you dare try & crack wise on Mr. Gaye. I'm not too old to hand out Ph.Ds anymore.

(That one's probably too old for UrbanDictionary.com    )

I love Marvin Gaye, but Richard Simmons won't wear shorts that small.

For some reason, I initially misread "annual" as "anal".

Saw Tiger Woods big-time Jesse and his people in a brutal way at the Ryder Cup a couple of years ago. Jesse had positioned himself to greet Tiger near the practice green and attempted to hug Tiger. Tiger just walked right by him, expressionless. It was very awkward. He then proceeded to play grabass with Michael Jordan for like 1/2 hour.

JJJ get out early and take over this "program"?

And get it out of the 1960's and truely become progressive?

first point of action would be to establish a REAL safe zone around PUSH, Maybe 5 blocks. Go build some parks, put some cameras so nobody can drive in, shoot and drive away. No drug deals with the effort of no shootings outside OP PUSH
