Christmas Day at my sister's house in Winnteka. My other sister wanted to show everyone her new Jeep. We went outside to check it out and who should come walking by in his Sunday best? Mike McCaskey. He seemed to be on his way home from church since he was dressed to the nines. He came up and said hi to everyone and wished Merry Christmas to all. He really seemed like a nice guy--taller than I expected. As a season ticketholder, I didn't quite know how to react. You get so used to bashing the figurehead, you forget they are people too. We all said hi to him, "Go Bears," etc. and he went on his way. My wife was worried, since my brother-in-law's Christmas present was a cornhole game with some corn bags she made out of bootleg Packers-Bears fabric. She was afraid he would bust her for using non-NFL-approved fabric. I wanted to ask him to play a couple games of bag toss on the condition he was the Packers and I was the Bears. I bet I could have beat him like a drum. |
