I used to work at a Film & Video post-production house downtown. We also did audio for TV and radio. We had lots of "celebrities" come up for voice-over sessions. Here's a smattering: -George Wendt Came in with three buddies. They were there for about three or four hours and drank about 5 cases of beer. -Sinbad Yes. THE Sinbad. Nice enough guy. The most striking feature he had was that he was about 6' 6" and stocky, except for his legs. They were toothpicks. It was an odd look indeed. -Tom Waddle & Brian Baschnagel They were doing a voice over for a PSA. Waddle kept talking about the multiple, $1000 entry, fantasy football leagues he was in. -Jamie Kennedy Nice guy. Pretty funny. While waiting, he made prank calls to the other post-houses in town. -Richard Simmons The Tribune borrowed our conference room to do an interview with him. He showed up in his little trademark tank top and shorts and was loud and over-the-top (like he is on Letterman). The oddest thing (other than himself) was the fact that he didn't sit in a chair, he sat on top of our granite table. That spot was marked from that point on and the last person to make it to our meetings had to sit there. I also got to talk to Liz Phair on the phone. Her husband (now ex) was an editor that I was doing some work for. She called looking for him while he was on another call, so I took it. She pretty much made fun of him for the five minutes we talked. It was all I could do to keep from cracking up! |
