Les might be out of a job when CBS Radio goes national on Jan 2.
Not likely. Les has his shift covered. Yahoo sports or Les? Pretty simple is it not?
The original plan Monday night was for Yahoo! Sports Radio programming to air Monday night from 10P into Tuesday morning.
The Chris Chelios-looking Mike Esposito, who subbed Monday night for Laurence Holmes and actually had Holmes on the Home Run Inn Hotline, explained that Les Grobstein wasn't supposed to work on New Year's Eve, but did so in the wake of all of the Lovie Smith firing talk that has dominated discussion on 670 The SCORE the last couple of days. You'll still get your Grobber fix Sunday-Thursday on The SCORE, even though CBS Sports Radio has arrived.
As for CBS Sports Radio Network, it's officially on the air this morning, but Chicago listeners likely won't hear much of it except those "CBS Sports Minutes" and to fill airtime overnight Fridays into Saturday mornings & overnight Saturdays into Sunday mornings in place of Yahoo! Sports Radio.
By the way, memo to Rod Zimmerman...Pull the plug on 104.3 K-Hits already and put WSCR on the FM side like other stations are doing! What the hell are you waiting for?
