The Hank one is an obvious joke yes, but there are several other posts there that show the over love of Theo. And that is just from 2 different threads.

Why are Sox fans angry about what Cubs fans think about Theo?

Really, Hawg?

So you think this is an example of Cub fans over loving Theo

I'm gimmicking up my bow tie to do a Michael Hutchence type deal to a picture of Theo. Great trade.

THis sure seems like a pretty good trade for the Cubs, but Phil Rodgers was on M&H earlier, and he said that this CJ kid is, and I quote, "could win a Cy Young award a couple years down the road. He's like Mark Buerhle but with better stuff."

Another nice deal by the Cubs. Flipping a depreciating asset for $7.5M and a good prospect.

Agreed.

I was one of the few who have supported Soriano. Great teammate and his power streaks (non PED enhanced) were always impressive. Unfortunately, he and the team didn't get it done in the playoffs, so frankly, the contract has to be viewed as a mistake when taken in that context, but kudos to a guy who respected the game and was (and is) a class act.

Now let's hope Junior Lake continues to emerge as a keeper!

Hawg, Im asking you to answer honestly, which of those do you believe shows cub fan (not media) Theo over love?

Ill be surprised if you say any of them.

Frank has already admitted the Hank one was a joke and one of them is BigFans thread about Ricketts

So thats 7 of 8 that are flawed.

There's the propaganda. There's the con. Every guy that has come in has had a long term plan. The fact that He has convinced so many people that He is the only one is what some of us find frustrating.

Do you really believe TribCo and McPhail had a plan? I think they were just content with treading water, being okay for an occasional playoff appearance, and banking on high ticket sales regardless of the team's standing.

Hendry had a plan, but it was a short-term "buy everyone I can and win now" approach.

I don't agree with your statement.

Mc Phail was Theo well before Theo was Theo. He was the architect of a small market team that built from within both with talent and with an organization wide style of play that realized two world series and sustained success. He was the top young executive in the game. I doubt he came in without a plan.

Hendry hardly had a win now approach. He probably had the greatest assembly of MLB ready young talent in the league in 2003. But for injuries, Hendry would be in the pantheon of Cubs.

Thats true.

Its the execution of the plan and the money it would have taken to implement it seemed to get in the way until the Trib opened up the check book with Hendry

I hope you are being this obtuse on purpose. You asked for examples, I spent maybe 5 minutes looking at ONE thread and found all of these. There are literally dozens of other examples in other threads across the board.

Theo is overloved. I'm not saying that is good, bad, or otherwise, but he is overloved at this point by a good chunk of Cubs fans. Like Hawg said if you can't see that then I really can't say anything else. Its right there for all to see.

I 85% agree with this. The majority of the Theo knob gobbling is the media. Bad trades like Ian Stewart and Paul Maholm (probably) are quickly excused. Questions about where the pitching is met with "OMG! Theo knows he needs pitching! Why are Cubs fans being so stupid!" Every radio host and writer in Chicago seems to one up each other complimenting him. So you have this echo chamber of blow jobs coupled with a fanbase that is primarily always optimistic. The problem is fans who should know better like Al Yellon. That fuck is all the worse things about Cubs fans.

I could remove 4 and 5 at the drop of a dime.

Is Hank a Cub's fan? On second thought, it doesn't matter.

If you're not on that list, I probably can't stand you.

YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY REMOVE #5.
