I jumped off before going to Ohare, just to get some gas,,close to 1 hour to drive 2 blocks, get 1/2 tank....get back on expressway!

River Road and the Kennedy around O'Hare/Rosemont are an absolute living hell.

Its bad, but Harlem Ave. is still the worst between North Ave. and Irving Park Rd.

I live near there and make that trek almost every weekday. Don't see anything close to that unless there are extenuating circumstances, like a gas line rupture, which apparently was the case tonight. Glad I was out in the Cultural Mecca tonight and took a different route.

That fucking train is the worst thing in the world. It's like a 50% chance that you're going to get caught by it. I can't tell you the number of daily doubles I've missed because of that fucker. I can remember one time I was stopped and the train took about ten minutes to get past the crossing, then it stopped and went in reverse the way it came.

Northwest Line? Always budget like an extra seven or ten minutes in your commute if you have to cross it. If it's not Metra, it's freight. Every damn time.

man, the worst one i kept getting stopped by was one in (maywood? ha) on 1st ave a mile or 2 south of North, forget exactly what the street right over the tracks is but there's a Walgreens on one side and a gas station w/ a McDonalds on the other side

i'd sit there and wait like 1/2 hour for a train...the gates would go up for like 30 seconds then go back down and one would come in the opposite direction

127th between Western and Kedzie is the worst. Two sets of tracks and I swear to god there is never more than 5 minutes when one isnt coming thru

the other super bad one near there is on Western south of 127th, a little past blue isalnd, there's some factory on the right side....that shit would straight up STOP
the only other alternate route once it did was to double back to Sibley and get on 57

That is the same set of tracks that has crossings on Ridgeland at about 103rd, and Central at about 108th. Turrible.

One of the unfortunate parts of driving is dealing with all the wasted time caused by greedy forms of transportation.

At least most of the city trains are less bothersome.
