I think it's bullshit to strike when they're supposed to be teaching the kids they supposedly care so much about.

I don't think you understand what a strike is.

Oh, I completely understand what they're doing...I just think it's bullshit. Makes their cause less sympathetic in my eyes.

When else should they strike? When they're not working?

Don't fucking strike. Negotiate. It's not like they don't get paid without the union deal.

Well I do not have the median handy but does the normalized figure equate to a more fair salary than some people think teachers receive?

I went out on a few dates with a willing but poorly skilled girl named Median Handy.

I believe McHenry is about to strike, as well.

I was a HS teacher for 3.5 years. It's a good way to make a living, but you have to look at it in terms of a marathon, not a sprint. There are a handful of higher paying districts but those are the minority. Teachers generally do not make a ton of money at first, but over the long haul, different story. A teacher with a Master's degree starts banking really nice money by year 20 and usually get good incentive to retire at 55. they retire well, but there are years in the beginning where earning is on the low-scale.

Teachers, Police, Fireman, and all other public service jobs.....they are chosen professions. They have options. I have very little sympathy. I did it for a few years and quickly saw it wasn't how I wanted to spent the rest of my professional life.

1. block or enclose with a wall of bricks
2. Proper response would be to ask an endless series of follow ups until the person regrets having spoken to you in the first place.
