I had the Score on in the background but switched to Meller at 8 am for some fantasy football talk. Holy crap. What a trainwreck. Stumbling, mumbling, technical issues with putting calls on the air. Bad, bad, bad. I know it's week 1, but he's done this show the past few years. WTF?! Still drunk or what?

T They've employed Terry Boers so stumbling and mumbling aren't really frowned upon there.

meller is on ESPN1000 dude. i personally switched over to the score when i didn't hear christopher harris named on the ESPN1000 program (he's been the fantasy expert going back years to the fantasy football island with harry, the best thing he did on radio) but when i flipped over to the score i heard joe o doing a big fanduel thing. now going to commercial they're going to a completely spontaneous and totally unplanned thing where they're going to give you *3* different fanduel lineups! wowee zowee! b4 going to break they started wondering what they'd do with 2mil dollars..... FUCKIN ELL M8.

however, from the intro to this upcoming fanduel shilling it was ok. im not a fan of the first segment where they name their ideal team..... oh wait a minute, that's for fanduel too.

i might have to give meller a chance tho.... but joe o retweeted me when i said that i'm giving him a shot cuz no c-harris on espn.... wat do?

also like i said, he's doing a solo show without christopher harris (fantasy expert). i'm amazed the mouse didnt send someone else over to replace him cuz now meller has to be the host and the expert, and if they're going on the cheap by giving us a fantasy football show without a fantasy football expert, do you think they're having experienced/well-salaried people working the boards/callers/etc? prolly an intern or their lowest-paid-person.

lol man as an epilogue i had tweeted @ joe-0 that the fanduel stuff was arrrghhh and he insists it's all related and that's why they do it. i retort yeah hey i'm sure the $$$ from them doesnt hurt either, but hey god bless ya i know y'all gotta eat and its a business and that prolly helped get the show on the air, it's just not my thing!

he responded to THAT that they're talking matchups so IT'S ALL RELATED.

good company man that joe o, it's just like.... man. comeon. i dont think there's a super huge giant market of daily fantasy football players (yet) as much as there is a big push from fanduel and draftkings to put their shit out there like there IS that super huge giant market, you know, on some ol "the chicken and the egg: what came first?" stuff.

i'd be willing to bet the marketing push came first and while the #s are going up to where it's possibly relevant on its own merits, we'll never know cuz what was once just an annoying commercial during every score commercial block a season or two ago ("HEY YOU MISTER ABOVE-AVERAGE FANTASY FOOTBALL PLAYR....") is now all over the place and sponsoring the fuck out of everything and commercials everywhere and FREE TOURNAMENTS!!!! WIN A MILLION DOLLARS WITH NO $$$ UP FRONT! and since we're only getting bombarded with more and more FD/DK stuff it's her to stay until it gets criminalized as a form of gambling. *crosses fingers*

i remember when that des plaines casino first opened they had free/ish/cheap promos and a friend of mine boasted that he won $100 from that and the first few rounds were on him because of his winnings. i said cool/thx but hey my advice is dont go back to the casino cuz you know they're doing this thing where they basically toss you a few bucks to get you to come back and find out that the house always wins in the end (and if they don't they'll ban your ass cuz casinos ultimately exist to take your $$$ and if you're literally brilliant and too good at playing the game they WILL ban your ass. card-counting is strictly prohibited cuz you can't have people playing the game to win, you know?) ---- within a month or two i heard from his GF that he lost 400-500 during his next trip to the casino. c'est la vie.

so when joe o and his cohost were musing over what they'd do with 2 million dollars after they pitched a TOTALLY SPONTANEOUS AND COMPLETELY UNPLANNED segment where they're making a few different daily lineups for the different types of games on fanduel, man, do your thing and enjoy kissing some sponsor ass... but don't try to tell me that you're servicing populist demand. that's all i ask for... a little realness!

Has Meller improved?

I caught a little of his show several Sundays ago and he sounded nervous and unsure of himself. He's pretty cocky when he chimes in on Waddle and Silvy, so I was surprised that he didn't sound quite so bold when he was in the driver's seat. I guess it's different when you're not just lobbing shots from the peanut gallery.

Is Meller the producer who yells anytime he interrupts a conversation?
