Seriously, this was probably some dipshit that got a little alligator as a pet, then when it got too big, and/or ate the family cat or something, released the fucker in the wild....that's just dandy.

If that's the case, I'll assume that the gator ate the family pet, and the idiot that kept it did that.

At that size, the gator is no more dangerous than say a larger dog that could bite. Definitely not big enough to kill. The thing would have died shortly due to weather, if not rescued.

Turns out it was a Caiman. They would sell dwarf caimans at the pet stores in Montana, like a few hundred bucks. I guess they'd top off at around 4 feet or so. I can't imagine what one would do with one at full size as the home they'd need to be happy would be huge. If it was a non dwarf than.. I can't even begin to fathom what they were thinking.
