You're free to believe that a teenage kid didn't exaggerate anything. Especially one who consulted with an ex-wife before coming forward. Also a man being physical in any way with a rebellious or bratty teenage son is going to be viewed differently from getting physical with a teenage daughter.

You already said he shouldn't have done what he did!

Yeah, I don't think a man should get physical with his daughter.

Hamilton has a history of self-destructive behavior. Correct me of I'm wrong, but weren't there stories about him getting dropped off at college by his parents and immediately inking a tattoo before getting blacked out drunk at a bar? This is the same dude who after being sober for years couldn't be trusted with anything more than pocket change or he would go cop drugs. Clearly his problems go deeper than addiction. Telling his daughter to notify the judge of his behavior so that he doesn't have to see her anymore is more or less consistent with who he has always been.
