Chicks with dicks, playing women's soccer?

If things start flopping around we’re back at square one.

i'm not a fan of penalty shoot-outs. the alternative is a replay or keep playing until someone scores. most of the players run 5-7 miles per match; more, for extra time.

a replay the next day is not physically possible, while logistics for 70,000 fans, media, hotels, tv...is precarious, at best.

there are various ideas floating around...i believe fifa has to make an executive decision.

says the hockey fan, lol.

what's a bigger time waster, a soccer player feigning injury and writhing on the ground for a minute (possibly getting a foul), or an entire defensive unit running to the other end of the field to take a selfie, only to have the thing they're celebrating reversed on replay?

every sport has their respective flaws, but all the major ones have enough fandom to warrant the coverage.

To be fair to hockey, playoff games are not decided by shootouts. Overtime hockey playoff games are about as good as it gets.

I love the excuse that shootouts are required in soccer because the players run a lot during the game and would be too tired to play more than 120 minutes. Sounds like soccer should be banned for safety reasons as these superhuman players are putting themselves near death every time they step onto the soccer court.

a baseball player runs on average, 70 yards during a game? versus 7 miles.

easier to schedule doubleheaders in baseball than...oh wait..now, rare baseball doubleheaders are 7 innings for safety reasons.

I think it's time that soccer started retroactively carding the floppers.

Yeah, and a marathoner accountant can run 26.2 miles and be back at work on Monday wearing his medal around the office.

Don't forget the burrito 26.2 sticker on the back of his 4Runner or Jetta.
