Who?

Every time I leave Da Jewels I see the newspaper rack on the way out after the cashiers with the ice and firewood.

I look and think I might have bought a paper if I'd seen it before I paid for everything but I'm certainly not going to turn around buy one.

I haven't bought a newspaper in years and when I do it is to load the grill chimney to burn. I was a newspaper guy.

Why do they even bother? I think I bought a Sunday paper for fire kindling a couple years ago and it was like 5 bucks. I didn't realize at the time but I was thinking that was expensive kindling.

Ya know, a little MAPP gas does the job quite nicely, cheaply, and very quickly.

“I just want to make sure people understand that ALL the charges brought against me — including disregarding a traffic signal, improper lane usage, speeding, and no auto insurance — were also dropped,” Telander wrote to Feder. “All were wrong. Every one of them.”

Kind of funny that he would specifically list each charge, only to say they were all improper. It's like Mike Tyson saying, "I just want to make sure people understand that ALL the charges brought against me — including rape, serial buttocks fondling, deviant sexual conduct, assault and battery, and sodomy, were also dropped."

I like the follow up article after the case was dropped. But come on! Nobody at the paper could figure out how to transfer the CD into a format compatible with embedding the arrest video in the article? Sounds like bs.

The dash-cam footage was provided to The Record by the Wilmette Police Department on a compact disc and in a format that could not be downloaded and published

Telander claims the Wilmette police were wrong on all charges. He didn't clarify anything. Only reiterated what was known already. I'm thinking he went for the package deal that the video disappears. Must be nice to be rich. 91% of people in Illinois arrested for DUI lost their driving privileges.

Sportswriters aren't wealthy.

He was a Sr. Columnist for the Sun-Times going back to 1995. He may not have generational wealth, but he has plenty of money.

I don't know what wealthy means to you, but I would suggest there are many wealthy sports writers.
