My boss was touch and go for a few days in the ICU after falling from a 6 ft ladder. Don't pull wire with both hands and all of your force because when the fish tape snaps you are going for a ride.

A 6' ladder tied off with a harness and a 6' lanyard. You are laying on the fucking ground before it catches you.
I was on a job once working from a scissor lift. Never raised it but was driving around working on some things shoulder high. General contractor flipped our yelling that I need to be harnessed and tied off. Put the harness on and clipped to the lift then drove to the gang box hopped out and grabbed a few things out of the box and got back in. I know its the insurance companies that mandate this shit but common sense should prevail in some situations.

im all for safety. it's #1 mindset. but osha goes too far, and they operate like the mafia. they are not there to protect anyone. they are there to fuck companies over, which has an occasional side effect of protecting employees.
