He looks extremely uncomfortable whenever he attempts a 2 point field goal. He looks like he knows it’s not going in. It’s a big problem.

I agree with your premise but not your description. He’s just not that good at it. I dont expect it to improve much. I do expect his ball handling and passing to be much better on Saturday against this team though.

You don’t expect it to improve much? Why is that? He’s 23. He’s already drastically improved his shooting mechanics and 3 point shot. Now, he’s got to work on mid-range and touch around the rim because that part of his game is invisible. $20 million is a lot of money for just transition basketball and defense.

My main concern with the trade was that he was about 32 years old. How many more productive years does he have? I'm not sure his shooting slump is indicative yet of him declining as a player though, more time is needed, but it's clear to me that the new management is trying to change the culture and build a winning team (maybe not a championship level team though) as quickly as possible.

It's not easy making the adjustment from being no worse than the #2 option to the #3 option. We've seen far better players than him struggle with that.

Obviously, I like Lonzo a lot. He can get better and i sure as hell dont doubt his work ethic, i just dont ever see him becoming a fluid scorer from all areas of the floor. I just dont think thats his game.

The kid changed his jumper from the ground up and gives big effort. I don't think he will get prolific, but markedly better.
