MANY go all crazy and pretend to care about soccer during the World Cup. At least the US isn't in it this time round, so there is less of that.

Most of the people that do enjoy soccer do so year round and don't beat you over the head with it.

I don't give a shit if everyone likes something or not...I get annoyed by the dismissal of it being a "burrito sport" from someone like Ogie, who, like me, likes hockey but can't seem to respect how physically taxing it can be...I agree about the flopping...it's excessive, but part of the game....and the over-theatrical reactions to non-calls are extra level hilarious.

That said, the major worldwide governing body is almost as corrupt as the IOC...and there are next-level evil dictator type things going on with it.

I guess I do. But not that much. Went out to breakfast on Sunday morning for father's day, and they had soccer on the tv at the bar. Annoyed I guess.

I love baseball, watched about 10 games since last Thursday. But I completely understand why others find it boring.

I see we’re going with the “people on Twitter” are saying approach. Obviously the only group of fans who are annoying are the ones that promote the sport you don’t like.

They had one giant TV at the bar with soccer on it. In some ways I get it, it is a live event vs replaying baseball highlights or having CNN on.

And no, I don't push baseball on anyone. I am willing to explain why it is a great game despite the pace. But I fully understand why people do not like baseball.

I never begrudge people for what they like, but I will tease them sometimes. Just live and let live.

the world cup matches i've seen have been great.

i'd like to see how the ratings were; considering a lot of them are broadcast live during the week in the mornings, i can't see big ratings. but the weekend afternoon matches should look good.
