Best to endorse the Reign of Terror rather than become a victim to it.

Exactly right. We need even greater concentration of wealth at the top, not less.

That way all of these riots can turn into a full-scale civil war.

Good thinking, Bob. I didn't know you were an anarchist.

And the expectation for a large teacher's union in terms of behavior should be much higher than a bunch of shit stompers from Virginia.

It's fine though because poverty. If you say poverty literally any action can be justified.

And yes, Bezos is a bad guy. A real shit bag it seems. He definitely isn't a paying it forward (or back) or whatever like Buffet. I would like to see political action/pressure taken to break up his monopoly. That's one thing Trump talked tough on, but never really did shit about.

Seems unlikely. But that is a separate question from the guillotine, isn't it?

Look, if you want to be a voice for protecting the wealthy, that's fine. But I thought your whole ideological agenda was founded on a reaction against class inequality, especially as it applies to the white working class.

This basically does show how ignorant the Teacher's Unions are. Where do they think that their money comes from that pays all of their salaries? Think the Minimum Wage folks pay their salaries" Perhaps those idiots in charge of the Teachers need to be fired or go back to school themselves and learn how taxes work? WHo they are collected from and how they get distributed?

Seems unlikely? Have you been watching the news? I think calling for peace, and toning down the revolution talk might be in our best interest right now. I am of the belief that Western Civilization is worth preserving. If you want to help people I don't think burning down this society or evoking the Reign of Terror in your rhetoric is the way to go. And I certainly don't think the teachers union should be endorsing it. You are not going to help the least fortunate amongst us starting a war.

If you're Antifa or BLM you dont go to jail. There are no laws for these people, the cops arrest them then the DA lets em go. Even those two guys breaking into people's homes and trying to rape their kids aren't going to see any sort of jail time. That's not how it works anymore.

This was a labor action involving about 20 people. It occurred four or five days ago and no one was injured. The central demand of the protest was for a pay increase, and the protesters appear to be threatening a strike if their demand is not met. If this frightens you, then you are as soft as baby shit. So much for your concerns about economic inequality.

Way to ignore the issue, 90 days of violent riots, and explain away a fucking guillotine with "baby shit". No one was injured in this one, not so in thousands of other "protests" that have broken out all over the country. After we burn it all down and kill the rich inequality won't be an issue at least!

These people are striking because they want more money, which they'll inevitably turn around and give to Amazon.

I was focusing on the topic of the thread, yet you accuse me of "ignoring the issue" because I don't entertain your tangents? OK.

You can conflate riots and protests all you want, but you are only exposing your allegiance to the social elite by doing so.

Perhaps you should reserve your moral indignation for a ruling class that has gradually delegitimated itself over the past four decades through its consolidation of power and wealth on one end of the social spectrum.

The issue was bringing out a guillotine amidst widespread social unrest. Now you can scream "ruling class" all you want, but they are going to be fine if and when the riots turn messy again. And if there was a coherent plan to do something about inequality I would like to see it. All I see on the streets destroy our history, abolish the police and steal shit. And burning down our cities isn't helping the poor, just like be mad at the ruling class isn't a strategy.

It was a peaceful protest. No one was hurt. The protesters appear to be low-wage Amazon employees, not violent rioters. The fact that you appear incapable of distinguishing between the two groups perfectly illustrates your bias. All you see on the streets are people that "destroy our history...and steal shit?" What a surprise.

One major thrust of the anti-police protests has been to press local governments to divert funding from the police force so that citizens can receive a higher quality of services such as day care, health care, education, afterschool programs, and vocational training. These are essential building blocks of a sustainable society, a social foundation that elites have undermined for forty years. You want to preserve society? It's probably best to establish social conditions under which that society can be reproduced rather than ensuring those conditions no longer exist. American leaders have largely failed for decades--and so do arguments in support of the cannibalistic status quo they have created. Rioting and destruction do not stand in opposition to the neoliberal order; they are its logical outgrowth.

When there are violent riots going on around everyday, bringing out a guillotine is not encouraging peace. And I don't see starving protestors stealing bread. I see people smashing stores to steal Gucci handbags here in Chicago. Nationally, I see angry mobs ripping down statues, and burning down buildings. You know as well as I who actions like that will end up hurting.

I don't see a populist economic uprising. I see a radicalized group that wants to burn it all down.
