Not surprised; there's always been a homoerotic tinge to MMA and its fandom. I remember some promo for a Georges St. Pierre fight that was just him and the other guy (I can't remember his name now, I'll edit it in later) walking up to each other in good old Calvin Klein B&W, staring into each other's eyes, and breathing heavily. I thought they were going to start fucking.
