I think that the overly religious are against both birth control and abortion because it interferes with God's will. In other words, if you choose to have sex and if you are religious, you better cum inside her and let life take its course because that is how sex is done and that is how life happens. Sex is should only be done for the purpose of creating life. If it cannot create life, then they believe you shouldn't be doing it.
That is why they are also against masturbation, anal sex, facials, and gays.
