I'm mostly busting your balls; you're like 1 of the 5 posters on this board worth reading.

Right on. I don't know that I've seen your thoughts on the Sox offseason trades so far as a third party here. What do you think?

The only notable things coming out of this nomination are questioning why "Elmhurst Steve" isn't called "Schaumburg" or "Winnetka Steve" and why he doesn't find a different line of work.

No you're not.

How much would you like to bet? I have all my bibs from the races and it is all very easy to verify.
I bet $1.00

The burden of proof is on you.

It's hard to take as a fan, but if they were going to go down this road, they've done about as well as you can.

I've always been a TINSTAAPP guy, but if you assemble enough high velo arms, one or two of them are going to hit. Sox/Cooper have a pretty good record of finding/keeping pitchers healthy

I pretty much agree with that. And analysis and scouting are so advanced from the time of the Ruffcorn draft (Brien Taylor and Mike Kelly 1-2). A "can't miss" certainly can miss but his odds are better today than ever.

Still, to me, seeing is believing. I'm not excited about any of these guys. I am only excited that I at least don't have to see losing in the same way I've seen it for the past several seasons.

I guess what I was trying to say in my conversation with FavreFan is that I didn't like the Sale trade, but once they did that, they made a decision on which way they were going. It may not have been what I would have done, but I'm also not paid to put together a baseball team. Would it even have been possible to surround those guys with complementary talent during this specific offseason? I don't know. Maybe not. The Sox let it get to that point by going cheap with Jacksons and Lawries in years when there were better (and more expensive) options available. Theo signed Lester a year earlier than I would guess he would have liked, but he did it because that's when he was available. Once the Sale deal was made, I couldn't be anything but happy about the Eaton trade.

For me, I really don't think I could have taken another year of try on an older free agent bat and watch the luck run out.

I did live in Schaumburg for 2 years. When I married my wife, she wanted to remain in Schaumburg for 2 years while her son finished high school there. I hated living there, but making him change schools halfway through, didn't seem fair, so I agreed. I have been happily relocated to Winnetka now for over 2 years though (2 years 3 months). The word is crappy not crappie. It's a home, not a fish moron.
